dont worry, this is normal. wen i got my my puppy it was the same situation. what we stated doing was scatering a bit of hes kibble on the floor and he ate it but would not eat of out his bowl. we soon discovered that he could not see his kibble in the black bowl so we switched to a silver bowl and he started to eat after we scattered his kibble on the floor for a bit. now after a month he perfecly eats out of his bowl by himself.

P.S. i do suggest u switch his food to dry kibble because he may have been eating dry kibble all along or does not like the taste of wet food.

hope it helps!

heyy.

okay i have the perfect solution.

it works for ALL dogs no matter what.

im not sure why hes not eating, it could be various reasons.

but my dog did the same thing.

and the vet told us to squeeze some syrup (maple, or whatever kind, it doesnt matter) into a glass of water. then feed it to your puppy through an eyedropper or sppoon. its extremely sweet so your dog will love it, and it will keep your dogs blood sugar from going down from lack of food.

gatorade also works.

let me know how it works out.

Try putting some on your fingers to let him lick it off. Or lead by example and walk around on your hands and knees doing puppy things and lead the puppy over to the food bowl and pretend to eat. My pup always drinks his water when I do that.

Over what time period has he not been eating? He may be nervous in his new surroundings.

I would talk to a vet about it on Monday, if he hasn't eaten by then. Don't rely on petsmart.

7 weeks is a bit young to be away from the mother.

buy him puppy chow for small breeds. he probably wasnt even weaned when you got him. you need to put the food in his mouth and open and shut his mouth so he understnads to chew it up. then place his head back when the food is chewed completely up, and run your fingers gently down his throat. that will encourage swallowing. keep doing that till he gets it, then he will eat!!

good luck!

first don't panic the best thing to do is take him to a vet .. it is likely he was weaned from his mother too early you might need a special liguid formula its best to see a vet about this

maybe if you try warm milk and stick the tip of his nose in it so he will know what it is
