I would advise against the tuna since the tuna made for human consumption is actually higher in mercury levels than pet food quality tunas.(IF you are feeding a HIGH quality food!) But rice is fine. It's actually a great source of carbohydrates, and is a staple in my household, especially for when they are sick, on antibiotics, or having tummy issues. (diarrhea, etc..) Brown rice is obviously better for them, but none of it is going to hurt him. :)

No. Dogs don't get ringworm from rice. What's so much of a pain about feeding your dog? A bowl of chicken and brown rice is ok on occasion, but not as a regular meal. It's missing major nutriants. There is very low nutritional value in white rice. I don't know what Asian rice is...is it white? Brown rice is better.

Birds can't eat rice because they have no way to release gas, and rice causes gas in their digestive track. They swell up until they die. Churches have banned the tradition of rice throwing after weddings for this reason.
Dogs, however, generally have NO problem passing gas, as all dog owners know! So this isn't a problem for them. As many have already said, it is a common, even main ingredient in many dog foods.
When we run low on food, I make brown rice for my dogs and mix it with something yummy like tuna to tide them over for a meal or two till I can run to the store. We use brown rice because it has more fiber and is less processed than white rice, which becomes white only because it's been bleached.

Vets actually recommend boiled rice and beef/chicken/turkey when a dog is having stomach problems. It's a great way to add calories to the diet, but it's best to provide him with his regular dog food. Just don't feed too much rice in addition to his dog food, or he will probably become overweight.

There are dog foods made with rice in them.
And we always feed our dogs rice when they're having stomach problems. It's the only food they're able to keep down. Something about the simple starch make-up, I think.
All in all, they should be fine. I don't know about the tuna, though.

Cooked rice is fine but it shouldn't replace her dog food. It's excellent however when your dog is under the weather (vomiting, diarrhea). I don't know about the tuna, but normally what's recommended is poached chicken with rice when a dog is having digestive difficulty.

Rice is fine for dogs to eat. It's a good way of bulking up their food without too many calories and great for upset tums.
Um and since when do birds explode when they eat rice???
Note to self - stop throwing out rice scraps to the birds. YIKES!

Rice is fine for dogs to eat - it's included in loads of dog foods (dried and tinned). The dog we have now eats a dried complete food, but our old dog lived mostly on household scraps which I topped up with dog food. He ate everything edible lol everything and anything that wasn't nailed down or already in somebody's mouth lol ( his name was Buddy )
so your fine =3

A dog eating rice won't harm it. Most dogs will eat anything their stomach can bear...

Rice is okay, my dogs like it too, but i'm not so sure about the tuna....I wouldn't feed it to my chihuahuas or my cat.
My dog ate tuna and he got some bald spots, and my cat ate tuna and it made her crap very gummy....so bad that it stuck to her bonghole and she smelled BAD!! She needed a bath for 3 days straight.

I would think that it is OK to eat rice occasionally but it is full of starch and is probably fattening. I know that my vet says to mix rice, hamburger meat and broth together and feed it to my dog when he has an upset stomach. It always seems to work for him.

Rice is great for dogs. It actually helps their digestive system. I feed it to my dogs every day. Also, pumpkin in a can is good for them too and they love it. NOT the pumpkin PIE filling, just the pumpkin.

It's not a good idea to give dogs 'people food' but a little rice and tuna won't hurt him. If you are going to give your dog tuna just make sure they're are no bones in the tuna.

sure it is a bland diet - but lamb and rice might be too rich if your dog has a touchy tummy

As long as it isn't a substitute for dog food, it's fine as a treat.

Cooked rice... sure. Uncooked, no. It'll "cook" in his tummy and possibly expand too much for his belly.. and pop. One of the reasons rice is no longer allowed to be thrown at weddings.
Tuna will give him the MAD farts and poops.
No health problems, though.

The rice must be completely cooked, or your dog could get bloat. Make sure that they are completely saturated with boiling water first. Even at that, it's probably not very good for him.

if you don't feed him too much human food he should be fine, and if your really concerned just give your veterinarian a ring.
