I have been told to get an X-pen... what is it? How does it work? Where can I get it? and how much?

An x-pen (exercise pen) is a small, 6-paneled pen that can be folded up and moved. They run everywhere from 1-4' tall, and are excellent for keeping dogs contained while you're away from home (if you don't want to use a crate).
I know they sell them at PetsMart. I'll find some links.
An X-pen is an exercise pen. It is like a play pen for dogs. It is usually metal, no floor or top. It keeps the dogs penned into a certain area. Some people recommend them for help in house breaking. you can find one pretty much anywhere. WalMart, Target, pet stores, etc.
Good luck. : )

An x-pen is a puppy play pen. It's 6 or 8 wire pannels of varying height that are usualy used to contain puppies and some smaller/calm adult dogs. You can get them at most pet stores, through various rescues and online if you search for 'x-pen' on ebay or amazon.
Keep in mind that an x-pen is not as safe as a crate, particularly if you have a larger dog. They can learn to knock it over or climb out, unless you add a roof or reinforce it.
They are great for when you need a temporary fence/play area, but are still around to keep an eye on the dog.
