Where did you get them?

Patch- SPCA foster. was adopted, then abandoned and by some miracle we found him again and decided to keep him.

Angel- SPCA foster. was thrown from a moving car and needed serious medical care and surgery from scar tissue...no one was willing to take her on as an adoptee so we adopted her.

Peggy Sue- was picking up another dog from the kill-shelter for the SPCA when i fell madly in love w/this little dog. told my husband about her through tears because the SPCA didn't have room for her, and she only had 3 days left. he went down, loved her too and adopted her (it was our 1st wedding anniversary!!)

Dodger- Vet called me because he knew we were looking for another dog for our small dog Peggy (the other two are large breeds) and this horrible BYB had brought in a mini doxie pup at 12 weeks. she wanted him euthanized because "she couldn't sell him fast enough". so the vet reported her and got her kennel shut down and i adopted Dodger that same day.

What are you guys doing today?

oh just cleaning house, and the dogs are getting a bath later. LOL then this evening we will go on our daily 5 mile hike.

Patch- howl on command (he has a pretty howl too)

Angel- shakes your hand

Peggy Sue- Dances

Dodger- ....well he's a doxie, he doesn't really like doing tricks..but he can really tear after varmints (snakes, grasshoppers, mice, etc.) and makes a very nice neat little pile on the back porch for me (YUCK!). then he barks at the back door till i come praise him for his hard work.

Funny stories?

Patch- LOVES bubbles like my daughter does..she and Patch will jump to catch them and run in circles after them...hilarious!

Angel- likes to drop pecans or rocks or whatever into her water bowl and then fish them out. the funny thing is that she blows bubbles when she sticks her nose in the bowl LOL!

Peggy Sue- climbs stuff like a cat! my living room window is low so she sits in the window like a cat would, and every person that passes by gets a little confused by it! ha ha.

Dodger- is a nosey little boy. he sticks his nose in everyone's business. if Patch is doing something he stands right under his belly and looks up at him like "HEY what'cha doing?!" then he bounces up and down into his belly...which tickes off Patch. LOL it's funny to watch.



Where is your dog now?

Patch- Napping on the back porch in front of the door. ~ oh wait, now he's inside on his dog bed, hubby let him in.

Angel- Asleep on the floor of my bedroom...to my left.

Peggy Sue- is hiding under my bed cause Dodger was buggin her a minute ago

Dodger- Laying under my chair..with his head touching my foot. he HAS to be touching me at all times when inside....like i said my shadow.

I have a 2 year old Border Collie/Aussie Mix. Got him when he was 1 year old from Glen Highland Farms (the best rescue group I know) . I used to feed him Natural Balance and then Timberwolf but now I feed him raw. I have been sick for 10 days and my dog is misserable because we always do alot together. We walk every morning early and every night. He goes in the car with me everywhere. We go to parks and have doggy play dates sometimes. Today he will go to my friends house to get some exercise because I am still sick. His favorative toy is me. He likes to herd things and so if there is nothing else to herd, we play herding games. It is his absolute favorite. He has a blue collar and his own color is tri-color. His name is Bo. Bo knows agility and he my son teaches him alot of tricks. He can figure out which of your closed hands had a treat in it, he plays hide and seek and he does sit, down stay, roll-over, hi-five and give paw. The funniest thing Bo does is at night when we take a drive, he chatters when he sees a cat. It sounds like people talk almost. He has us laughing all the time. He is the best dog ever!



I also have a foster dog named Dixie. She is a aussie mix and has been tramatized from abondonment and abuse. She is a sweet girl that was very sick and pregnant and is now leary of people and has come a long way but still has a way to go. We have recently put her up for adoption because now that she shows us that she trust us, we would like to see her bond with someone who wants to adopt her. She is a very very pretty dog and we have worked though all her issues. I hope to adopt her soon because she is very ready and because I have my eye on another dog in need of rescue. A small chi that has been in the shelter for over a year. She is very agressive and I want to try to help her. No one else is trying and I am surprised she was not put down. It is my understanding that she has a friend with a high title in the shelter.

*Brock will probably go jogging with me. I will take King for a walk. They will play in the yard while I get some vit D from the sun.

*It's not a trick, but I love when I first wake up in the morning. They are so excited I'm up, they yawn and make all these sounds and stretch their bodies with their tails wagging like crazy.

*King is a lab/boxer mix and Brock is a lab

*Sticks. (I buy tons of toys, but they want to play with sticks...)

*California Natural. (King can't handle any of those crap foods that have corn and preservatives, and he doesn't do well with lamb either. Only high quality stuff for my boys!)

*King opens doors on a regular basis, but he had unlocked the deadbolt and opened a big heavy wooden door and the glass storm door and was outside my grandmother's house when I came back. Brock likes to chase butterflies, but never even comes close to catching them. Very cute to watch him pounce around the yard.

*They are both outside. I leave the back door open, so they come in occassionally to check on me or bring me something they found (retrievers, definitely.)

*Mine only wear collars when we are taking a walk or run. Brock wears blue and King wears red. I don't leave collars on when they are home for safety reasons.

-Frankie is my Black-Tri and Remy is a Blue Merle (Avatar)

-Honestly, I'm not sure - I'm in Germany on business right now and they're at home with Dad. If I know my hubby, they're all probably laying on the couch right now!

-Remy doesn't do tricks, he's working on basic obedience. Frankie bows and cocks his head to the side and flashes a grin

-Both are Australian Shepherds

-Frankie's is a Tennis Ball, Remy's is the rope toy

I have 3 dobermans, I bought the first one, she was 8 weeks old and came from a very reputable breeder. She was bought for showing and breeding (although first and foremost she is my pet). My other 2 are her offspring. I bred to get my next show dog. The names are Grace(4 years old), Rex and Anna (both 9 months old). They love kong toys and are on the raw diet. All are black and tan, with docked tails and cropped ears. Rex wears a red collar, Grace pink and Anna lost her beautiful blue collar so is wear a chain collar at the moment.

First dog is 6-7 we were given him by a family member, We got him he was 1-2 yrs old, His name is Sammy,He likes to walk, he can dance, he is a mini Schnauzer, he eats beneful, he has a red collar

2nd and 3rd are sisters: Boo and Bella

we got them at 6 weeks they are now 6 months, they are Chihuahuas and they like their squeaky toys, They eat beniful puppy and they have pink harnesses, they have no tricks because they are spoiled rotten

#4 is a mix breed we got from a breeder that had a surprise litter from a dog that was supposed to have been fixed when she got her.

he is about 12 weeks and we have had him for about 3 weeks, His name is Fugly and he is learning to sit right now

We have four dogs...



Shiloh is our oldest at 8 yrs old. She is a mutt, a Lab/Chow/GSD mix. We got her from a lady down the street...that lady later became our county's Humane Society's Officer (there wasn't a shelter around here when we got Shiloh). Right now Shi is laying beside the couch where her Daddy is sleeping. Her collar is bright pink...because she's our only girl. Her favorite toy is a rawhide or a stuffed animal that she can unstuff (eyes come off the toy first, lol) We brought her home when she was 8 weeks old. She was the runt of the litter...and was the biggest puppy I'd ever seen, LOL! The Mama dog refused to nurse the pups, so the lady who had them hand fed them. They were huge, fat puppies.



Samson is our Doberman. He's 6 yrs old. We actually bought him from a pet store at Christmastime. I know that's about the worst thing you can do as far as when and where to get a dog, but I honestly couldn't resist him. I made the mistake of holding him and he just clung to me. His favorite toy is anything he steels from the other dogs, lol. He was 8 weeks old when he came home and his collar is blue...because he was my first boy dog. Samson is a bit of an ambassador for the Doberman breed...he loves to meet new people and prove to them that Dobies aren't mean or scary. He's a big baby and is huge at 110 lbs. He sit on our couch like a little kid would...his butt on the couch, his back legs sticking straight out and his front feet on the floor. He's a huge goof ball. Right now he's sleeping in his favorite spot...on the loveseat that has become his couch. He's not even supposed to be on the couch!!



Baxter is my Sheltie. He's my baby. He is 2 1/2 yrs old. We also got him when he was 8 weeks old. We got him from a breeder about 2 1/2 hours from us. His collar is green...because yellow seemed too girly. He looks like a girl dog, everyone always thinks he's a girl...I don't know why that is. His favorite toy is the small Dingo bones, he goes nuts for them. Right now he's sleeping in front of the door...it's the coolest place in the house and he gets hot easily because of his thick coat. He's my little sweet heart and follows me every where. His favorite thing to do is go play in the garden with me...he lives for that.



Petey is our Chihuahua. We just got him in March from a breeder 4 hours away (one way! that was a long day). His favorite toy is Baxter's tail! Seriously, it is. Right now he is cuddled up with his Daddy, sleeping on the couch. His collar is black because I couldn't find a red one that fit him...he's so tiny. But, soon he'll be big enough that I'll be able to find a red one for him. He's white with black ears and spots, I think red would look nice on him. He's 4 months old now and is a riot. When he sleeps he has to be cuddled up to me, my hubby or one of the other dogs. He hates to be alone. Being held is what he lives for.



We feed all of our dogs Pedigree. Different varieties for each one, but they are all on Pedigree.



All of my dogs have always had their own color. That way I know what belongs to which dog. They each have a Christmas stocking in their own color, but they all match, lol.



Today we are all just hanging out at the house. They got us up at 6:30 am today. *Yawn* We were going to go to the parade, but it's supposed to storm, so we're staying home. Probably going to take a nap!



My dog's best tricks are when you tell them bang and "shoot" them with your hand...they drop down and play dead. Shiloh is great at catching treats when you throw them to her, I don't think she ever misses. Samson is getting really good at the one where you put the treat on his nose then he throws it up in the air and catches it. Baxter is so cute...when he gets a treat we tell him to sit, then he automatically starts pawing the air trying to "give 5" so he'll get a treat quicker. Petey doesn't do tricks yet, he's just cute and gets treats for that alone!
