Yes. Your dogs' ticks can fall off of him and then attach to you. This is why it's best pulling the tick off with tweezers or your finger (I use my finger) and either putting it in a bottle of rubbing alcohol to kill it, or flush him down the toilet to put him miles away =] IF a tick attaches to you, and it's a small but looks like this http://www.benbrew.com/lb/deertick.jpg pull it out and try to keep it in a jar or a plastic bag, so if you get infected with Lyme Disease you can take it to a hospital where they can sometimes test the tick to see if he has the bacteria that causes Lyme Disease.

Oh and dogs can get Lyme Disease, make sure your dog has the vaccination. I've never seen/heard of a dog having Lyme Disease, but it's always possible.

As soon as you notice that your dog has ticks you remove them

You do not allow the ticks to remain on your dog... depending on how many there are he/she could become anemic.

Some ticks carry Lyme disease as well as carry other diseases.

Yes the ticks could also get on you, you just simply remove them, as for lice, some forms of these little parasites also can get on humans.

ADD:::

Of course ticks get on humans

Ticks stay attached until you either remove them properly

or until they have drank enough blood to the point that their bodies swell and they drop off.

Yes ticks will get on people. The will suck your blood and give you the same diseases that your dog can catch from them. Dog lice will get on you but they won't stay on you. They don't like people much but they do bite and itch and some people are allergic to them.

Definitely. Get rid of those ticks and also check yourselves.
