Is 23-30 pounds to heavy for a pug dog to weigh? Would this be considered a flaw or badly bred pug ?

The pugs parents are big but that does not mean the 9 week old puppy will be big. I have a desexed male pug that is nearly 8yrs old and he weighs about 24lbs. His father was about 28lbs. I do not think this a bad buy. 20lbs for a female is OK, when fully grown. With pugs, they LOVE to eat! It is up to the owner to monitor their diet or the pug will get fat.
You will love having a pug, they are playful, affectionate, couch potatoes, love living inside, and if trained properly (they have been known to be hard to train, but my pug obedient) will give years of wonderful enjoyment to their owner. They need minimum care except a good brush now and then helps with the shedding and their folds need a wipe with a soft cloth.

The desirable weight for a pug is between 14 - 18 pounds. So five pounds over the desired weight isn't bad, but thirty pounds is obese.
Unless the dog's height is in proportion to the weight, I can't see a pug's body being able to carry that much weight without suffering some health problems.

It may not be a flaw but a weight problem that could be adjusted through a diet. The best bet would be to check with a vet or another pug breeder. Im pretty sure they are not supposed to get that large and this could be a bad health trait in the pug's bloodline.

The standard for the pug is 14-18 lb. The parents may just be too fat. If you are looking for a good quality dog, I would look elsewhere.

Unless you're planning to show him, don't worry about size. Generally the dogs that deviate from 'breed standard' are less inbred and therefore genetically healthier than "perfect sized" dogs. Just make sure the dog looks healthy and get a vet record before you buy, and you'll be fine.

These are either big pugs or really fat pugs.
If they are big the must be oversized and do not fit breed size standards. If you are wanting to breed one I would not buy oe from oversized parents

sure cat nutrition could make a dogs shed, table scraps are mattress for dogs, plus moist nutrition could reason tooth issues in view that dogs do no longer brush thier tooth the dry nutrition enables to cleen them develop into they cruch up the nutrition. you may initiate by blending norm dogs nutrition with the cat nutrition it relatively is it eating now, and slowly initiate including much less and much less cat nutrition. additionally positioned your cat nutrition someplace the place the dogs can no longer get to it. do no longer feed it sracps. If the dogs does not consume do no longer worry, think of of you dogs as a newborn. in the experience that your youngster does not consume what you're making you tell them to bypass to mattress and wait till finally they consume what you have made. dogs are the comparable they're going to hold out for what they like yet while they are no longer getting it they're going to consume what they have. yet allowing your dogs to have the cat nutrition you purely make stronger the habit. additionally do no longer depart nutrition out continually, by having nutrition around continually make stronger over eating. verify with vets to work out how plenty and how offetn your breed of dogs could desire to consume. that's particularly circumstances on the decrease back of dogs nutrition bags. desire this enables
