and a little swollen (like an allergic reaction). Her disposition is fine and her appetite/water intake the same- should I be concerned?

DON'T WAIT! Go to or call your vet! There are pet emergency hotlines and the Humane Society or other rescues that may be able to help. Depending on the marker brand, it could damage a puppy's brain and could result in a blind or unballanced puppy. It may not be bad, but get it checked out. If there is a problem, then waiting will only make it worse.

Depending on how much of the marker your puppy has ingested he could have ink poisoning. I would call your local poison hotline and ask about what to do.
His eyes could be red because of this, or because he's gotten some of the ink in his eyes.
Please call and see what they say you should do. And you should have him checked out by your vet as well.
You should always think of your puppy like you would a baby.
they will chew, lick, swallow just about anything.
Good Luck.

If you think your puppy has ingested the ink from the marker, you need to call poison control immediately.

Look at the marker and see if it says non-toxic on it - if not - then, yes, you need to be concerned! Call an emergency clinic and see what they recommend ASAP!!!!!

Wait and watch her and how she does. If she starts to act a little different, even a little take it to the vet. Better safe than sorry!!!
