Hey i've got a girl shih-tzu!

She snorts alllllllllllllllll the time also!

It's completely normal!

They snort because their noses are like buttons!

Their pushed in.

You really don't need to spend money at the vet to get the same ancer as me!

What is ur puppy's name?

Mine is Jezie!

She is a year now and

she is soooo playful!

When ever we come back home from the store or anywhere,

Jezie jumps up and down like she has not sceen us for weeks!!!!!!!

You will just LOVE your dog!

She will live til she is about 15 yrs old!

please vote for me as your best answer!

Thankz!

Lol. How cute =) I think it is 100% normal, I had a little female shih tzu when I was little and she would snort 24/7, we named her "Babe" after the pig, because she snorted so much!

This is a common problem with shih tzus because of the short muzzle. I would discuss this with the vet though so he can rule out any problems if there are any.

It is acctually a "backward sneeze" since her nose is shorter than other breeds of dogs they tend to do that often. It may sound like kennel cough but it is nothing to worry about. I have 3 shih tzus... a little bit (half a tablespoon) of CHILDRENS benedryll can help but ask your vet first.

It's just the type of breed. Their noses are so short that when they breathe hard, it creates a snorting sound.

I have a corgi that does it, they call it a reverse sneeze, its funny once he starts it usually goes on for a while.

Also i notice he does it when he's relaxed. The vet told me its nothing to be alarmed about. Its funny sounds like he snores while he awake.

Normal and very common in short nose, flatter faced dogs. Hope you can get use to it.

This is totally normal because of their short snouts. Nothing to worry about.
