First, don't keep anything on the counter that the dog will want. If they get something out of jumping on the counters or tables, they will continue to do it. If they get nothing out of it, they usually stop doing it themselves. If you're like me, that doesn't work to well. I have had success with spraying my dog with a water bottle whenever he does it. Try to make sure you surprise them though, otherwise it is not as effective. Also, someone suggested to me to put a piece of cardboard on the counter with double-sided tape on it. When they put their feet on the counter, the feet will stick to the tape and they will get stuck to the cardboard. This is so supposed to scare them and make them not want to jump up on the counter again.

Be assertive everytime he does that and tell him in a stern voice to not do that.

Using force is not a good way.

Reward him when he is behaving himself!

Maybe he needs tranquilizers.
