Here in the US not everyone crops the Dobies ears.I work with a rescue and have seen hundreds come through with floppy ears.

I think they look fine.

I love a dog with a good ear crop but many get their ears done and then do not do all the follow up care and the ears do not stand well. That looks awful. It would have been better not to crop at all if you are not going to take the time for the follow up care.

Either way I am sure you Dobie will look great.

Personally I have had Dobies for 22 years and have dogs cropped and natural. All have been tail docked. I like them either way.

I don't think the look tough even with cropped ears, but that's simple how I view the breed. Cropped ears don't make a dog tough to me. Its actual behavior.

I think they are really cute either way! I think they look tough because of their coloring and large size, but I have never seen a Dobe without cropped ears in the US, because everyone does it. I think that they would look tough but more puppy like or gentle with floppy ears.

Can`t dock tails or crop ears here in UK but I think Doberman looks amazingly beautiful and tough without cropped ears or docked tail.

I think cropped ear look dreadful...but that is only because it is not allowed in the UK so we are not used to seeing it.....as is docking, personally I prefer the look of docked tails on dobbie's but have poodles with tails now and I would never dock again even if it became legal to do so..purely as the poos use their tails so expressively..........where as dobbie tails can be like whips, so everything is whipped and can cause damage to objects, human legs as well as their tails...............................
