Confusing dog question? Purebred mutt?

Okay, I have a Valley Bulldog, I'm not sure if many of you know what that is, but it's a cross between the english bulldog and boxer, (fyi, if it's crossed with anything else, not a real v. bull)

Anyway, what I'm asking is, I know the V. Bull is considered a 'mutt' or a desginer breed or whatever, but both of my dog's parents were valley buldogs, and both of his parents parents were Valley Bulldogs...

So... What would that make my dog?

Valley Bulldogs can be traced back to I'm pretty sure the early 1900's.

Is your dog registered with the IOEBA?

If your dog comes from a long line of "Valley Bulldogs" and is registered, I believe that it's considered a purebred; just not in the eyes of the AKC.

However if your dogs parents were bred from mixing a bulldog and a boxer, the lineage is not long enough still causing the dog to be a (I think) second gen. mutt.

Add: Upon further reading, I think it's still being classified as a mutt.

Add 2: Here's the registry page for them at the IOEBA

http://www.ioeba.net/ioeba%20valley%20bulldog%20breed%20standard.htm

Which was part of my initial confusion, they do have a standard which seems plausible (opposed to "shih poo" or whatever standards which seem to be quite vague)

You said it yourself.....a mutt (cross) Mutt to Mutt breedings produce 100% MUTTS!

Add: I have a Bulldog (not an English Bulldog), just a Bulldog that is registered as a Bulldog with the AKC.

A Valley Bulldog, but still a mutt or designer breed.

Unless it's a 'recognised breed' (by the Kennel Club of whatever country) it's not regarded as a purebred. So this would still be a mutt by any other name.

A designer mutt. in others eyes.Think about one thing here. A purebred is only worth the amount stated to a purebred collector, Yes?then you're dog is only worth more if someone is willing to pay you for it. Same with a purebred. If breed falls out of favor . value goes down.

it is not an straightforward or honest assessment to make. for the reason that each and each breed of dogs has specific genetic well-being matters linked with it, with careless breeding, it quite is greater possibly that they are going to inherit those defects than say 2 distinctive breeds of dogs with distinctive well-being matters that are bred jointly. you ought to remember the main dogs, no remember if purebred or mutt, are bred irresponsibly, without finding out in any know, so it stands to reason that greater purebred dogs will exhibited well-being matters linked with their breed. notwithstanding, whilst 2 purebred dogs that are well-being examined who the two come from sparkling strains are bred jointly, the probability turns into very small. learn that to how very almost each and every blended breed dogs is bred (intentionally or no longer) without expertise of the well-being matters linked with any breeds interior the aggregate, and no finding out is complete, those dogs can and do inherit certainly one of those well-being matters. human beings shop making this a controversy of mutt vs purebred whilst it is not. that's solid breeding practices vs undesirable breeding practices that produce healthful or undesirable dogs

A mutt. If I bred a Lab/Border Collie to another Lab/Border Collie, the puppies would be mutts. The percentage of Lab and Border Collie would stay 50/50, though it wouldn't be an even split because there would be differences in the health of the two labs and two BCs, as well as the temperaments.

It's a mutt, but dogs that are bred over a long enough time...(I don't know how many generations) they can be considered for AKC recognition. I imagine it is an arduous endeavor!

Its not a purebred still, its just a multi-generation mutt. Like people how claim Labradoodle generations are bettering a 'breed'. Whatever.

No different than any other furry, four-legged, big-hearted companion you can get at a puppy mill.
