I miss my deceased dogs greatly. I think about them often, especially when something reminds me of them or if they were in my dream the night before.

I still cry over the dogs I have lost over the years. I lost my first dog, Sidney, when I was 8 years old and still remember that day like it was yesterday. Sidney was a sheltland sheepdog and sadly passed on due to a brain tumor at the age of 12 on Halloween.

I know I will see Sidney and my other beloved pets in Heaven one day :)

Diane- When my family and I would get upset over Sidney we would call them "Sid Moments"... dogs just don't live long enough.

Yes. She was a Boston Terrier named Pigger (December 15, 1995- June 08, 2007)- she died of congestive heart failure and couldn't even lay down for the last three days. It hasn't been too long, but I miss her SOOOO much and I know I always will.

My dad still talks about his childhood dog, Lady; you just have to think about it like your dog's in a better place. That's one of the only things that keeps me from crying when I think about her or pass her burial spot.

Writing about her and letting everyone know how good a dog she was helped a little too.

It's good to miss him, but don't be too sad! Just never forget all the good times you had with Hyzer and he'll always be with you in some small way : )

My dog was named Kaero. She was a red Dachshund and I had her for 12 years. She died August 15th 2006 (it will be one year tomorrow) and I still miss her. I still cry when I think about her. I have a box of things that belonged to her, a food bowl, her collar, a blanket she liked, a bandanna she wore sometimes. From time to time I take it out and look through it, have myself a cry and put it away again. Some days it feels like I'm over her death, that I'm healed and can move on. But alot of the time I know I'm not. She was my baby girl, she got me hrough some hard times and we went through alot together. Even though I miss her everyday, I know she's not hurting anymore.

My one Lab (Odie) only lived for 4 1/2 years until he got diabetes and died on January 21, 1996. He was a beautiful dog and I still miss him.

Then on March 1, 1996 we went to look for another dog, and faith was with me. I picked out another Lab (Thunder) who was 7 weeks old. He was born on January 21, 1996 the same day Odie died. There must be a God.

Thunder lived for 11 years and I had to put him to sleep on July 6, 07. I miss him dearly because he was more "my" dog. He went every where with me. He would go for rides in my truck and sit in the front seat. Sleep with me, and always loved his walks. I still cry thinking of him.

I don't know if I can ever get another dog.

I've lost 4 dogs.

my dog Hermione; an australian shepherd; she was hit by a car on May 18th 2006. and then on June 16th 2006; my dog Hailey[Chi-pom] was bit by a snake; had to stay at the vets for two days then on the 18th they had to put her to sleep because their was nothing they could do. Then on November 14th 2006; my little Manchester Terrier mix, Paisley, was hit by a car. I was devastated from all the deaths; its hurts to even look at their old collars or even their pictures.

4 days ago; on august 11th; my dog, Toby passed away from an unknown illness.

All of my dogs that passed a way were young. I miss them all so much. My stomach hurts if i here any of their names. Pet Loss grief is a long process; and its a horrible thing to go through.

I'm sorry for your loss.

missing your baby is normal, whether it is 4 months or 4 yrs..

It is very hard on any of us when one of our furbabies pass. I know for me I had to put my English Bulldog Bonnie to sleep in Feb 04' and I had her cremated so that I have her with me at all times.. she sits right in my corner hutch in the living room. There is not one day that goes by that I do not remember our good times or how wonderful of a girl she was. I know she will never be replaced. I now have 5 more bullies that I will have to go through this with but I cherish every single minute that I have with all of them and try not to think about them not being here..

Absolutely!

Zack, my dad's yellow lab - ~18 years ago

I don't remember much of him, but my dad talks about him sometimes. I wish I knew him better.

Freddie, dachshund - 17 years ago

Freddie was hit by a car and I have the image of his body in the wheelbarrow burned into my mind. He used to watch Sesame Street with us and blended into the dark brown carpet.

Cassi, mutt - 7 years ago

"Runaway" by Del Shannon still makes me cry because I think about her. She was such a great dog. We got her when I was six, she lived to be ten and then died of kidney failure. We had to put her to sleep because she was so miserable...

I still miss them all...I'm sorry for your loss :(

I had to put my dog, "Cheyenne" to sleep ten years ago. He was 14 and healthy up until the end. Unfortunately, my mom called me one night and said that his feet were bleeding. I went over, and he had drug his toenails down to the quick. He was screaming (he was a husky) and he did not appear to know who we were or where anything was. I took him to the emergency clinic and had him euthanized. To this day, his ashes sit on my dresser(once I find a place to live permanantly, I'll bury him). I do miss him, and I think about him daily. I find myself comparing the dog I have now to Cheyenne. Believe it or not, I even dream about him sometimes.

Yes, you do still miss them. Especially if you were extremely close. Last year, my Border Collie, Bandit, got hit and killed in front of my house. It devastated me. I still miss her. I believe that the longer you have a pet, the more it becomes an extention of yourself and when it dies, a little part of you dies with it. But time eases the pain.

My beautiful rescue dog, Wilson, was euthanized on Feb. 17th. I still cannot get over his loss. We traveled to Colorado twice (I adopted him from the pound in Grand Junction, in 2003). We traveled to Stockton, and Fresno, California by van, He has been to Mesa, AZ, and back, with me.....and many more road trips. He was my most trusted friend. I miss looking into his beautiful, trusting, kind, face.

Definately luv. I accidently killed our toy poodle - I was playing with him and stepped back and didn't realise he had run behind me. I absolutely hate myself for it but there was nothing that could be done. That was about 14 years ago and I still have very teary moments now!!! Just try to remember the good times xxx

i miss him sometimes yes, and i dream about him too, but i have 2 other pugs, and i definitely don't feel lonely =]

My dog Sammie died in 2000 and I still miss her. There is nothing wrong with missing your dog... that just shows how much you still care for him/her.
