Definately a pug. Their eyes and nose are the cutest. Ontop of that, they think they're tough but they don't realize how small they are. I have a shitzu-pomeranian, and I would prefer a pit-bull. However, I can see you only have 2 options.

It just depends on what you want in a dog. Pugs are natural clowns, very playful, loyal but sometimes stubborn and hard to train. Dachshunds tend to be more aggressive since they are part of the hound family, they have hunting instincts. Both are great dogs. I have had both. Currently have a Pug and he is hilarious. Contrary to what people think, they all don't snort.

I like both of them. But I have two pugs and find them to be soooo sweet! They are such social dogs though that if you leave them alone for too long they get depressed and I hate those sad little squished faces!!!

I have grown up with both dachshunds and pugs. I would get a pug. Dachshunds can be just as moody, they can even have mean streaks. Pugs snore and snort. Dachshunds have back problems. You take risks with both breeds. If you are a more active person then I would recomend the dachshund. If you are a more laid back kinda gal then I would choose pugs. They are both going to shed and slobber occaisionaly. Both make good watch dogs. I see a pug as more of a couch potatoe and inside dog. Dachshunds can be very active and want to be outside more. Hope this helps!

Pugs have health problems that are specific to the breed. They have breathing problems and get overheated quickly. Dachshunds are much superior as are all hounds to terriers.

Pugs are smaller, and they eat less, and they don't need to run as much. So it is easier to handle and take care of them.

However, pugs tend to be moodier.

So it is basically up to you. I have yet not had a dashhound, so I have no current expreriences in owning one.

i worry about dachhunds because they have such bad back problems- but then pugs have sinus difficulties- its like both breeds were designed by the Dr. Mengele of Kennel club
