Question:
Under Cover Chihuahua...?

My first chihuahua came to live with me about two years ago and I noticed that he liked to get completely up under the covers. At night he likes to sleep under the covers with me, but if he sleeps any other time, he "roots" up under the covers. I got another chihuahua about four months ago, and she does the same thing. They will find blankets or coats or whatever they can find and curl up underneath it (winter or summer). I always have to make sure I check blankets or covers every time I sit down or get ready to go to bed.

Both of mine sleep with me and they always make sure they are completely covered up...

I was wondering if this is something that is typical of that breed or if your chihuahua likes to "root" under the covers, too?

I have one long-haired that will sleep on top of the covers. All the short coated and hairless sleep under the blankets.

I have a Rat Terrier that does the same thing. We have 4 dogs, and he is the only one with short hair. We wonder if he isn't cold all the time. He also loves to lay in the sun that comes in windows.

I have a chinese crested/chuahua mix (hairless sorta). I let him sleep on my bed with me. He's a bed-hog and is usually the first one under the covers when my bedroom cools off in the evening. My dog (named Mon) "roots" under the covers off and on all night..think he's getting comfortable in his bed hog position. Gotta love em! :-)

Because they are so small they lose heat very quickly. I'm not surprised that they do that, most small breeds preffer being under cover.

some canines are extra accustom to slumbering decrease than covers. the two he purely enjoys the feel of being decrease than them or he's chilly. possibilities are high he will do it extra frequently in view that's particularly getting chillier...
