Just Don't.

Take a trip to your local pound and watch them euthanize labs for the Memorial Day Weekend.

Ok, first of all females usually go into heat around 6 months of age. You should wait until she is 2 years old before even considering breeding her though, because in order to be a good mother to her puppies she has to be more than a puppy herself. This will also lessen the risk of complications. This may seem like too long and you might not be the most patient person in the world, but please consider your dogs life before doing something risky.

Now to your other questions. Labs can be sold for anywhere from $100 to the $300 in your case. Champion blood lines can sell for thousands! And no, breeding isn't a great way to make money. It costs a lot to raise the puppies.

Labs tend to have large litters, like between 10 and 15. Your female will be pregnant for 9 weeks, no not 9 months LOL.

Before the puppies are born, you will need to have a whelping box ready so she can have the puppies in it. You may need to help the puppies come out if your female gets too exhausted during labor. It is very stressful on your dog. You will have to monitor mom and the puppies closely to make sure everyone is getting milk and not being squashed by momma dog.

You could sell the puppies at 8 weeks minimum by sticking an add up in the paper or asking family and friends if they would like one. Before breeding you should really set up half or more of the puppies with great homes. Millions of dogs die every day in shelters because of irresponsible breeding and careless owners. :(

Your puppies will most likely be black or mostly black because that is usually the dominant color.

Ok, now by the questions you asked, you know pretty much nothing about puppies. It's great that you have a year and a half to educate and prepare yourself before she's ready to breed. I suggest picking up a Dogs for Dummies book for about 20 bucks. It's a true life saver and has tons of stuff on breeding a caring for the puppies. You really need to know more before getting into such a big adventure! :)

Please take my advice and wait until she is 2, things will go so much smoother. If you did it before then, you could lose mom and/or the puppies, so please think clearly. I would also start a puppy fund so when they arrive it won't be hard on your wallet. Good luck and have fun! :)

You obviously don't have the smarts for breeding. You don't know the first thing about dogs or breeding, or even spell check. A simple internet search would answer all your questions but is evidently too complicated for you. Get yourself neutered and save the world the trouble.

You may break even on selling the pups, but probably not. You need to spend about $200-300 in vet bills per pup.

The pups won't sell for much since they will be mixed breed (yellow and black labs are actually different breeds). Please reconsider breeding your dog. Those who have answered have given some excellent advice.

You need to do genetic testing on both dogs before breeding - this will run you around $1000 each - and if either has any problems you can't breed them and sell them. If they are show champions and have both passed the genetic testing you can get 300-500 for these puppies. If not you can't sell them. It costs more to breed them and take care of vet bills for the mother and puppies - plus you need a whelping box, other supplies and registering them. When you add in the genetic testing that isn't always favorable - you will probably lose money overall. You only want to breed show champions that are being bred for the betterment of the breed. You also then raise all dogs you can't find homes for - at over 1000 in the first year of each dog's life. If you breed a dog before she is fully an adult 1-2 years she will likely die in labor. You have no knowledge about this - BAD IDEA! Save money and get them fixed!

After seeing the questions that you have posted, I would say that you are not ready to be breeding any dogs. If you purchased a chocolate lab at a pet store, you should just save yourself a lot of time, money, and heartache and have her spayed.

She should be at least two years old before breeding her. Before breeding, her hips and elbows should be checked for displaysia and her eyes for PRA. She can have frome one to 12 or more pups. The more she has, the more chance of complications and a higher probability of her not having enough milk. There is also the very real possibility of losing her. Gestation is 9 weeks. Puppy color is up to genetics.

If you love her and your male, you will go have them spayed and neutered. If not, you will be most likely adding to the pet overpopulation problem we have. You need much more education before you even think about breeding. Please go to sites like akc.org and learn.

The answer to all of your questions is simple. You don;t have a clue on what you are doing so don;t do it. I will answer #3 though. Breeding any dog won;t make you lots of dollars. A good breeder struggles to break even by the time the pups go. A bad breeder who don;t know what they are doing will make even less.

Your dog needs to be spayed!

You want to "s.e.x" your dogs? What on Earth does THAT mean? Do you mean BREED your dogs? 5 months and 11 months are RIDICULOUS ages to be even considering breeding them! ESPECIALLY considering "Narla" is from a damn PET SHOP! You OBVIOUSLY haven't tested your dogs for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia or PRA and I can bet that neither of your dogs are AKC registered CHAMPIONS - am I right?

There are far too many Labrador Retriever puppies being created each day. The fact that you can't spell ANYTHING, you want to breed PUPPIES and you even paid money for a pet shop puppy scares me. Fix your pets and GIVE THEM AWAY. You might also want to fix yourself. I would hate to see any of YOUR offspring!

GIVE YOUR DOGS AWAY!

I wouldn't be surprised if you're just some stupid 10 year old trying to shake us all up. If you are, it's a shame. The pet overpopulation is too real for people to be joking about it.

There's already more than enough back yard breeders out there who don't have a clue what they're doing, breeding poor quality dogs who end up in shelters because no one wants them. Get yourself education first. Get yourself breeding quality dogs - that means dogs that conform to the breed standard, have had and passed all their health tests and have excellent temperaments. Until you know what you're doing, don't breed!

if you are serious which I doubt ...first use spell check yes alot to work correcting your spelling but you will come off looking normal....hahaha...secondly Labs are very sought after they are wonderful dogs that true breeders have no problem selling....head to your local library(if you can read not misspelled words that is ) and take out some books on the subject....would be a crime that by law in punishable if you abused those dogs

they both have to be 2 years old.i think you should leave the breeding to professional breeders.there are a lot of puppies with out homes because of backyard breeders and that is sad.as for the pet shop they are puppy mills.if you want to become a breeder i suggest you do A LOT of research and make sure you know what you are getting yourself into i know everyone has to start from somewhere because professional breeders did not become professional over night anyways good luck.

The best thing to do would be to spay and neuter your dogs.....you really should not be breeding, seeing how you don't know the first thing about it. However, if you are dumb enough to go ahead and breed them, don't even attempt to breed your poor lil' female dog until she is about 2 years of age.

Words escape me.

For the sake of the dogs of the world, please spay and neuter your animals. You have NO business breeding and bringing more puppies into this world.
