My dog tends to ignore me around the house but for reason when I'm sick or feel lousy, my dog will never leave my side. Do you think dogs know when a person is sick?

Yes, of course! Mine lay with their head on my lap when I don't feel well and they never do that otherwise. Remember, some dogs are so sensitive they can alert people before they have seizures. Lucky you, take good care of those special dogs, they love you.

Absolutely!!! A few years back, I had to have oral surgery. When my husband brought me home, needless to say I was really out there. My Rottie, who is very, very smart, and probably out of all my dogs, she is the one who stays by me all the time. Possibly because I rescued her, who knows. But that day when I came home, she immediately came by me, I was lying on the couch, and at first she jumped on the couch, and did not leave me for awhile. That became quite uncomfortable, and again, I think she knew, so she ended up on the floor right by me, and stayed there all day. My husband always said he had never seen anything like this in a pet. Also, my mom who I cared for, she has Alzheimer's and now in a Home, well, again, not only my Rottie, but all of my dogs were constant companions for my mom, no matter where she was in the house, a pet was always by her side. So to answer your ?, YES, pets do know when their owners are sick, upset, depressed, or just not right. Again, who says animals are dumb.

I can tell you a story my sis in law would want told. I have a Shih Tzu name Thunder. She came over to the house one day and he acted really strange with her..He kept laying on her chest. She wasn't feeling good so she went to the doctor.

She had lung cancer. My dog knew something was wrong before anyone , even her, knew. Til the day she died he never left her side. My sis in law never liked dogs. During that time those two bonded like I have never seen in my life. So to answer your question Yes , dogs do know when something is wrong. Dogs can also tell when a bad storm is coming. An animal knows more then we give them credit for... all we have to do is pay attention.

Yes, I definitely do. When I am sick, my dogs (I have 3) want to be right with me and the other day I fell off of my treadmill while I was dusting it and accidentally turned it up to full speed and banged up my foot and peeled some skin back on the top of it. As I was calling my husband in the next room, my boxer was whining and pacing the floor until my husband came in and helped me. She has been by my side ever since. They can sense when something is wrong.

Dogs are very into knowing their owners woes. I have found that if I am down my dog knows and tends to stick by my side as well. Dogs also do understand when their owners are sick and do the same type of behavior.

Yes. There are dogs that are trained to let people know when they are going to have a seizure. There was also a time when a dog had bit a lady in her breast and she went to the doctor the next day and then found out she had breast cancer. I have someone that is sickly and my dog also knows when she is feeling bad and sticks by her until she is feeling better.

I had surgery last year, and when I got home from the hospital, my dog (a little terrier mutt) jumped up at me and almost knocked me over. My dad yelled at her to go away and let me lay down (I was really sick), but whenever he would leave the room, or go to work later in the week, she would curl up between my knees on top of the blanket and wimper.

Oh yeah. My pug knows when I'm sick or upset because she sits beside me and stairs right into my eyes. When I'm crying about something she gets on my lap and wants to lick my face. Dogs are truely a mans best friend.

I also have a dogs in Vietnam that has continuously been consumed human beings ingredients considering that he replaced right into a puppy, he remains healthful and clever at 15 years previous now.. particularly much all human beings in Asia purely feeds human ingredients to canines considering that there are no dogs ingredients in there. it relatively is a fantasy that canines won't be in a position to evolve and digest human ingredients and that meaty human ingredients are much less healthful for canines than dogs ingredients. you basically choose for to no longer upload seasonings, no longer too lots salt or flavors, actually meat, rice, potatoes, culmination and vegetables are stable for canines. dogs ingredients could have preservatives and different ingredients that reason maximum cancers and harm canines wellness in the long term.

I think so. I am usually my dog's favorite person, but last tuesday my boyfriend had surgery on his shoulder and was in a lot of pain. Our dog jumped up on the bed and sniffed his shoulder, whimpered a bit and then laid next to him alll day and all night. didnt even whine when i left like she usually does. dogs just have that 6th sence

She wouldn't jump on him like she normally would, Now that he is getting better she is getting more comfy and and playing with him more.. So yes I think. I know when I feel lousy she is by my side almost at all times

yes, because you have a reaction. Everyone has a different reaction to when they are happy and sad. Your dog will know there's something different about you, of course.

I would say "yes". I know they use dogs to smell people for cancer, so I don't see why they couldn't smell fever, infection or a virus.
