Question:
Looking for a Miniature Schnauzer or Miniature Dachshund!?!?
?

Hello all,

Im looking to adopt/buy a small sized dog. Preferbly a miniature Schnauzer or Miniature Dachshund really, I'm not too bothered of the sex or age but would prefer one under 2 years old.

The problem is I cannot afford full pedigree price i.e. £700, so obviously I am not too worried about paper work ect. But I can provide a large loving home for a life time thats guarenteed!

I am willing to travel and collect, but Im having trouble finding anything at my budget as most for sale on the internet are for breeding and showing purposes... I just want a dog as a friend he he...

Can anyone help me?

Many Thanks

I presume you're in the UK

Well, your best bet is the FreeAds, Dogs Trust, RSPCA, and other private dog shelters.

Although some shelters aren't willing to say "this is a Pedigree Dachshund", as sometimes people sway towards the pedigrees than the mixes!

With Shelters, you're not usually expected to pay for them, instead give a donation. And it's doubtful you'll find a puppy.

hi claire have you tried web sites like 'preloved' or gum tree i got my wee jack russell there. Can i advice you not to go for a dachshund hun I had one i got him at three and lost him at 41/2 they are notorious for spinal problems and getting paralysed.Their tiny legs yet extra long body if the problem if they were a long truck they'd have wheels in the middle for support if you get my drift. My wee fella had 8 crushed discs pressing on his spinal chord.Surgery at £1500 got him walking again but sadly just for a month and he also had the after surgery pain to deal with in that time.It was heart breaking to watch him in such agony.I'd never want to go through it again.

Contact the Rescue Societies which deal principally with the breed you require, e.g. "Dachshund Rescue" - just google it.
