How long after a dogs heat can she still get pregnant?

My Boston terrier is ending her heat cycle, and i have heard that they can still get pregnant the next 2 weeks after they come out of heat.
Yes, i am going to get her spayed, which i do with all of my dogs, but my vet is always super busy when it comes to spaying and neutering, and i couldn't get her an appointment until jun 7. so unfortunately she went into heat before her appointment.
We frequently visit out local dog park, and i would like to know when i can take her back, since i haven't taken her in 2 weeks, and i don't want her to get pregnant.

So is this true that they can still get pregnant after, if so, how long should i wait?

I've heard of a dog getting pregnant a week after her owners thought she was out of heat.

I'd advice you wait at least 2 weeks after the heat cycle is over... just to be on the safe side... wouldnt be a bad idea to wait abit longer, if she's just had a cycle, she may still have abit of that "in heat" scent and may attract some unwanted attention.

One of the common problems that dog owners have is when their dog is in heat. Dog owners often report erratic behavior displayed by their dogs, stains on the furniture, and others.

She ovulates about the 3rd to 4th day of estrus, but you won’t know when estrus has begun without vaginal smears. Typically, when the swelling is going down and the discharge has stopped she is in diestrus and no longer fertile.
