i brought two small dogs from canada to england and the airfare for each dog was nine hundred dollars ... so thirty-six hundred round trip for both dogs ... i had to get each dog a pet passport which took over six months to fulfill all the criteria ... https://www.gov.uk/pet-travel-information-for-pet-owners ... and do know if every single criteria is not met for the pet passport and you try to fly, you will be denied ...

The dog will have to have an ISO compliant microchip (most of the US ones are not compliant), then a rabies and other shots (the ISO chip number must be on it and all other paperwork). Next is generally a blood draw for a rabies antibody test; there are only 2 labs in the US authorized to do them. Then you wait; the time varies by country. At travel time (generally 10 days or less), you must procure a USDA/APHIS export certificate thru an approved vet, get it stamped, procure the international health certificate, take care of any tape wormings and flea control (depends on country and 24-48hrs before leaving) mandated.

Costs vary by region. Some countries require all pets regardless of size to travel as checked baggage or cargo. Some require arrival between certain hours or the pet must stay housed overnight in a quarantine kennel. Non-compliance with anything means automatic quarantine. Many find it helpful to use a pet travel specialist.

Consult the airlines for the cost to your destination and a vet for the health certificate, search online for your best price for an airline-approved crate. The airlines' website set out what you need to know.

Are you moving to another country because I think you need to have the dog put in quarantine for like a month in the country you are taking it to.

I hope you are aware that there is more than one country in Europe.
