"Teacup" is nothing more then a term made up by lousy breeders to sell their runts that are usually loaded with health issues. Read up on the standard of the breed, and you'll see that teacup is no where listed. And there's nothing wrong with buying from a well established, ethical breeder that breeds from solid, health tested stock. Shelter dogs aren't for everyone.

Though it is not an accepted practice, I am sure there is someone out there that claims to have Teacup Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pups available. "Teacup" anything is usually the runt of the litter, not the most healthy pup in the bunch. Personally, I would stay away from the runt because they may possibly end up costing mountains of money at the vet's office. They can be entirely healthy, but the chances are slim.

There are poorly bred sickly runts and ill-bred mongrels that scam artists probably would pawn off on that name, but, no there is no REAL "teacup" or "toy" Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They are already a toy breed and come in only one recognized size. If you would like a breed similar to a Cavalier but a bit smaller, realize that all of the toy spaniel breeds are fairly similar, that includes the Cavalier, English Toy Spaniel, Toy Poodle, Havanese, Coton de Tulear, Maltese, Papillion, and Phalene.

You won't get one from a reputable registered (AKC/CKC) breeder because a "teacup" is not breed standard. Teacups are two runts breed together, their puppies generally have more health issues. CKCS are small dogs anyway, why would you want a poorly breed "teacup" one from a crappy breeder?

Cavaliers are are perfectly good dogs as is. No need to make micro versions of them.
They do have several health issues though so you should only get one from a breeder who is aware of their issues and breeds accordingly.
There's also a very good national cavalier rescue which a close friend of mine works with. However if you go to them asking for this teacup nonsense they'll likely send your email to their spam folder.

There are no "teacups" in ANY breed of dog. That's just a term scummy backyard greeders made up to con people into thinking that horribly-bred, unhealthy runts are worth a lot of money.
Take a look at the breed standard if you want to know about the breed. For Cavs: https://www.akc.org/breeds/cavalier_king_charles_spaniel/breed_standard.cfm
"Size - Height 12 to 13 inches at the withers; weight proportionate to height, between 13 and 18 pounds. "

No, reputable breeders do not breed "Teacup" sized anything. Cavs come in one size, they do not need to be any damn smaller. Anyone selling "Teacup", "Toy" or "Miniature" Cavs are scumbag crapyard backyard breeders that should NOT be supported.

Teacup anything is a rip-off and a backyard breeder or puppy mill product. Any breeder that advertises them should be avoided - you have nothing but trouble in behavior and high medical bills.
Please do NOT patranize any breeder that advertises toy or teacup or micro pupppies.

Don't get teacup animals, they're walking vet bills. In fact, don't get ANY dog from a breeder. Go to your shelter.
