Hi, I have just had our first ever litter to create our own top show dog lines, our pups are fully health tested, hips/elbow/hem etc. I am keeping back 2 girls as I do not want our winning dog to have more than one litter, she is 2. All pups are with contracts. so please no comments on breeding! as this is not the question!

All the pups are booked and I am getting there 'puppy packs' ready, I know that some dog foods give out 'puppy packs' for free containing info & samples of food etc but I really do not know how to apply for them, I know you can apply for 1 free sample, bit as a breeder do I contact them directly for a certain amount, as I need 8 of them? I do not mind making them up myself, just that it will save me a bit of time and I can add to the packs that the company I get them from will send me, so it will be extra for my new pups owners.

many thanks any links would be appreciated to!

we so far have found that eukenuba and burns will send you free puppy packs you need to ring and register with them burns restrict you to 20 packs a year but are very quick sending them out but if new owners purchseproduct using voucher enclosed you will be sent a voucher for a free 7.5 kg bg of food which thye will send you!they also offer loads of friendly advice. eukenuba are also very good but you have to have a minimum of 3 litters a year to register with their scheme so ring them and see how they can help hope this helpful

Most petfood companies run a breeders scheme, and breeders can get packs from them. But it is easy to make your own. I put in a weeks supply of the food the puppy is on. Plus a few chews and a toy. I let the pups play with the toys for a little while to get used to them and to get the smell of the pups on them. I also have a breed history written up on my PC which I illustrate with pictures I have taken over the years of my dogs. Along with this they get a care booklet, giving information on grooming, exercise, feeding, training and socialising. It has details of the worming procedure I use for puppies. Information on hereditary problems in the breed or things a vet may have to look out for. It does not just deal with puppy issues, but also caring for the dog throughout its life. And the best age to spay/neuter their dog. It is easier than you think to draw this up, as there are a lot of books on each breed giving lots of advice on care. I also put in the puppies pedigree and registration papers. I also have a 3 page questionaire for prospective buyers to fill in. They have to fill it in before they come to see the puppies. You would be surprised at how it sorts the genuine buyers out. Once you have it all on the computer. It is easy just to print off the number of copies you need. Good luck with finding good homes for them. They are hard work, but oh I miss puppies when they are gone.

I was the dog food buyer for a vet's office who gave out puppy packs to their clients, and I've worked for a dog food distribution company.

Those packs aren't free.

You buy them in cases.

You get 1 pouch free, not for your whole litter.

Call the place where you buy the dog food. Ask them about free samples. They can either give you 6 of them, or they might charge you a dollar or 2.

EDIT TO ADD:

YES!!!

Quality dog food companies/manufacturers do give out free samples. Usually one per person. Retail stores (pet/feed stores) have to BUY the samples. Usually $5 for a box of 12-24, or free when they buy so much dog food.

I worked for an Innova distributer. VERY quality food. They offered samples.

They DON'T offer entire puppy packs. Those you put together yourself.

A well-trained dog makes everyone happy, including his owner. Take a little time training him, and you'll never regret it; you'll always have an obedient dog by your side. Find more https://tinyurl.im/uLcOF

By their nature, dogs are pack animals with a well-defined social order. Through basic training, you need to consistently make sure your puppy understands that you are the leader, not him. So in teaching him the basic rules, you take on the role of pack leader.

To fit into the family circle, your dog must be taught to recognize his name and such commands as come, heel, lie down and sit.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU3vk

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Nearly all the major pet food maunfacturers do puppy packs - Proplan, Professional choice, James Wellbeloved, Naturediet.

Don't think they charge - they are banking on 8 new customers for life!

Dog training are excellent and very helpful to build you a stronger relationship with your dog. Read more http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?d8YP

Well, my dog didn't know what hit her when he arrived. It was like boot camp for dogs, lol.

But I tell you, in the space of 2 weeks of teaching me how to train my dog, I was already seeing great results.

Especially if you have a little horror of a dog on your hands which clearly shows that she is this way because you let her get this way which in turn shows that you don't know what the hell you are doing as a dog owner.

Don't take offence to that because I was exactly the same way. I have a 5 year old jack russell and when she was 3 she turned into a little nightmare and it was because I let her get that way. I had no idea what was going on. All I knew was that she was fighting all the time with my older dog and I had to do something to put a stop to it. Turned out to be the typical dominance issue thing with my younger dog wanting to take over the household and then the world no doubt.

I got a trainer in who was excellent. He moved to Australia from America where I think he used to train police dogs and he spent a good time with me on the phone before I employed him to come and train my dog. He is also a dog behaviourist and I tell you, any question I threw at him he could answer and explain and advise on.

I saw him about 3 or 4 times but to this day I say every cent was worth having harmony in my home. It was either that or I was thinking of putting my dog on medication or getting rid of her. I'm so glad I took the responsibility to fix the problem in the right way. My little dog has turned from complete monster to very well behaved, loyal and obedient little angel. She still has her moments but she knows who's boss in the house and it definitely isn't her.

Go for it, do your research, get references, try to get someone who has behaviour as well as training experience and you should be okay.

ask your breed mentor or someone from your local breed club. You are a member in good standing right?
