1. Post your dogs Name, Breed, age etc.
Maddie, smooth Dachshund, almost 2
Gracie, longhair Dachshund, just turned 1
2. Did you rescue your dog from the streets or shelter?
No, they're both from breeders
3. Has your furry friend ever killed a wild animal? ( bird, mouse, etc.)
Yes. Gracie killed an adolescent rabbit in our yard.
4.Whats the most expensive thing your dog has ate, ruined, or chewed on?
Nothing. They haven't ruined or chewed anything. They aren't really into making mischief!
5. Does your dog bark at EVERY living ( and non living ) thing he sees, that moves?
Yes, Dachshunds are major barkers. They bark at living things, inanimate objects they think might be alive, when they are playing, when they are excited, and everything else, too. Mine only bark when we are at home, though. On walks, on trips, in the car, etc...they are fairly quiet.
6. Did you name your dog?
Yes, I named both of them.
7. Does your dog like the sprinkler, or hose?
They LOVE it! They even know the word "hose" because we play with it so often. They liked it so much that I got them a little pool to play in too, which they use every day in the summer.
8. If your dog had a theme song, what would it be?
I don't listen to a lot of music, so I have no clue.
9. Is your dog secretly a cat?
No way. They're both dogs through and through.
10. Does your dog eat human food or table scraps?
Occasionally, if it's something healthy for them.
11. If you gave your dog a pop bottle, would she destroy it, snuggle with it, or eat it ( or anything else )
They love playing with empty bottles, so I guess they'd probably play with it.
12. What would your dog do, if you left the house, and there was a perfectly cooked turkey sitting, way back, on the counter? ( details! )
They're a little short to reach the counter! Even if it was in their reach, though, Maddie would leave it alone. Gracie might or might not go for it, depending on how good she feels like being.
13. Does your dog howl at night, or howl when a fire-truck comes through the neighborhood?
Nope. They're very well behaved and quiet at night.
14. Can your dog open doors?
If a door isn't shut tight, they can push it open. They can't use the knob or anything though!
15. If your dog was any other animal, what would it be
Gracie would be a sea lion. She's laid-back and loves to fool around, but she's smart and can get serious when she needs to. Maddie would be a gazelle because of her cautious, quiet nature and speediness.
16. If your dog was any other Person, what would he/she be?
Maddie would be something boring and normal like a Pharmacist. Gracie would be a a fun, wacky Kindergarten teacher. My younger sister drew Maddie and Gracie as people for my birthday last year, take a look:http://mannequin-sexual.deviantart.com/art/Doggiiieess-Oekaki-76412170
17. Do you find your dogs hair everywhere, and i mean EVERYWHERE, or is your dog neat and tidy, and it never leaves hair?
I'll occasionally find a few of Gracie's hair around, but really, they barely shed.
18. Has your dog ever had surgery? If so, what for?
I'm proud to say they've both been spayed. That's it (and I hope it stays that way!)

20. Does your dog love to leave slobber all over your face when kissing you, or small wet kisses?
The both give me about 100 small wet kisses a day.
21. Does your dog follow you around everywhere?
Yep. Even to the bathroom. I wouldn't have it any other way!
22. Does your dog run to you when you come home every day?
Of course! Everyone's dog does that!
23. Did you like this survey? Do you want me to make a # 3 survey?
I enjoyed it! I'd definitely take another one.
I can think of two funny things off the top of my head...
Gracie has had this tiny little squeaky duck since the day she came home with us over a year ago, and she treats it like her best friend. We started calling it "Duckie,' and she ended up learning its name. Whenever we say, "Where's Duckie?" Gracie will run off and find it and bring it back to us. Duckie is the only toy in the house that is not missing body parts. She treats it so gently and carefully. Even Maddie seems to know she shouldn't "hurt" Duckie.
Since I have Dachshunds, we have ramps all over our house. We even have a huge ramp running the entire length of our staircase. Gracie will sit at the top of the big ramp, set Duckie right at the edge, and then nudge it so it tumbles all the way down. She'll sit there and watch it fall, and wait till it settles on the floor at the bottom before running down the ramp to grab it. They she'll come back to the top and do it all over again. I don't know what she gets out of pushing Duckie down ramps, but she loves it!
Another funny thing...our sun room is beach/ocean themed, and we have these three sea gulls hanging from the ceiling. They've been there for a long time and the dogs usually just ignore them. BUT, if we have the windows open, and the wind happens to blow one of the sea gulls a little, and someone is standing underneath it, they'll both go nuts and bark madly at it. Apparently, when it moves in the wind, they think it's alive and trying to hurt us!
