you will have to call around - most won't carry any dogs in cargo in this heat. there is one that has ac in the cargo. you have to have airline approved crates & health certs done a certain amount of time before flying

you can't take pets on trains - neither do greyhounds of course.

there is really only one way & that is to drive it yourself

I vividly recall reading something about this. There was a table of various airlines and the rates of pet injuries and deaths. I'm trying my best to remember where I saw it. I think it was in Reader's Digest. I'm looking for my copy right now. The internet won't give me anything. But I did find a helpful site. I'm going to keep looking for that copy of Reader's Digest, but this site should help you for now. If I don't get back to you, then I've probably lost my Reader's Digest. If I did, I apologize in advance and wish you good luck and a safe flight for you and your dogs.

It's very likley this time of year there is a heat embargo on. Even an early morning flight, this last week or so I wouldn't have risked flying a puppy.

You might be better off to rent a car and do the drive.

I've always used Delta. There may be restrictions this time of year though due to high heat so check first to make sure you won't have a problem. If you are flying with them, that may make a difference and your Chihuahua can go in a carrier right under your seat.

To Kyani and to the original poster,

The name of the site that gives access directly to different airlines pet sites and also incidences, is Petflight.com.

It's a good site for this information.

Hope this helps.
