And if I do get one for him, I dont know if i should get another from his breed or another type of breed. PLEASE HELP!!!

Since you have a male, it is best for you to get a female. My females fight with each other a lot more than they fight with my male dog. Breed should not make a difference, so it is your choice. Introduce them in a neutral place (not your home) to help make sure your current dog does not get territorial.

I've 2 dogs that are rescue dogs. One is 4 year old Blue Heeler, male. The other is a 2 year old Lab mix, female. They are just like brother and sister. Get him a playmate.

Get a dog with the same activity level as your dog. Also take your dog to meet his new sibling and observe how well they get along before adopting. Good luck. I'm think of doing the same thing for my 13 mo. old.

I wouldn't get his breed, but it is best for the dog if you get the same size dog as its breed. I am sure your puppy will love someone to play with while you are gone.
