Is ok that my dog eats cabbage?

I was cooking and my dog ate some cabbage that had fallen, she seems to really like it, is it ok for her to eat it, or is it dangerous?

My friend had a dalmation that used to eat only vegetables. If you offered her meat, she'd turn her nose up, but she loved raw carrots, potatoes, cabbage, lettuce, corn and turnip. They had blueberry fields in their back yard and the dog would go out into the fields, eat her fill of blueberries and then come back to the house with a blue face! Too funny...



She lived a very long, healthy life.

Human food will rot a dog's teeth quicker than dog food and will also make them gain more weight. That being said i have two dogs that eat two meals a day each and it's human food mixed with dry food. They may have a hamburger patty with cheese sprinkled over it and dry food for breakfast and for their supper they may get chicken thighs (chicken cut up off the bone though) and dry food. It's really not the best thing for them but they won't eat just dry food. My collie mix loves green beans, carrots, sardines, tuna, anything fairly healthy, where as my old terrier mix loves junk--flavor blasted goldfish, chips, debbie cakes. It's crazy how different their habits are, but they are fine and my last dog lived to be almost 19 and she ate chocolate a lot too. I don't know why they say it will kill a dog. Im sure dog lovers will crucify me for this answer but it's really how my dogs eat and they live fine and play and run and are happy.

It is very good... my dog who just passed away a month ago today lived to be 16 years old. He ate, cabbage, lettuce, bananas, apples, carrots, and cooked rice. Was a very happy dog.

my cocker spaniel used to casually walk out to the garden and pick her own tomatoes, beans, peppers, cabbage etc. right off the vines. Worse than a rabbit or deer !!

Sometimes caused diarhea, but probably the vitamins were good for it.

our dog loved raw cabbage didn't seem to hurt him. Mom brought him inside when she was grating for coleslaw.

A little bit of cabbage is okay, I wouldn't go over board with it, or you'll wish you had never introduced her to it.. Gas!

The vet told me that it is good to have your dog eat fruits and vegetables. However, stay away from onions and grapes. I think it has to do with the skin...hard to digest, but I am not sure.

No, just make sure she doesn't fill up on it so she can still get the nutrients from her dog food.

might make for some very smelly poops later one....ours had a nibble at some cucumber that fell and OMFG even she crossed her eyes at the smell.

It is very ok. My dogs like strawberries, bananas, carrots, cantaloupes etc. and they are very happy.

IT COULD GIVE THEM GAS , AND SOME TIMES CAUSE A UPSET STOMACHE.
