Whats the best dog to own if you have a small house and are allergic?

I hate to say this, but no dog is completely hypo-allergenic. There are some breeds, like the poodle and the bichon frise, that are non-shedding, and therefore there seems to be less of an allergic reaction for some people. However, this is no guarantee! Even the non-shedding breeds produce dander.



Pick a breed (like the ones mentioned above) and find someone who owns them. Spend some time with seperate animals, because certain animals are more likely to trigger you than others. If you go to a breeder, they're likely to have a few different animals to test with you, to see if that breed is a good choice for you or not.

Maybe you can go for those short-haired dogs. The Mexican Hairless comes to mind.



Or, you could always get a robotic dog, the Aibo, if you have enough dough.
