He's actually not a puppy... he's 8. But for maybe a month or so now, he's been throwing up and dry heaving multiple times a week, been very lazy, and sleeping a lot, and not eating as much. Its not the easiest thing to take him to the vet, since he's aggressive towards people he doesn't know, so my stepmom said they'd have to give him medicine so he sleeps while they check him and she doesn't wanna do that. Also, my dad doesn't have a job, and my stepmom already works a few jobs, but we don't have any "pet insurance". Idk I think thats what it is. So we cant really afford to go :\ I know he needs to go, but we cant do that right now, so I want to get an idea of whats wrong. Thanks so much!

My mom is a vet, and my dog is like that too periodically! He might of ate something that's making him throw up. Once my dog ate a muffin wrapper, and he was like that for few weeks, but then he got better. Maybe wait a while, and if he doesn't improve, I would find some way to bring him to the vet. Hope he gets better!

Don't give him anything to eat for 24 hours. (unless he's thin) After a day give him a few tablespoons of water. Wait an hour. If no vomiting, give him a small amount of bland diet, such as chicken and rice (boiled) You probably arent feeding him the same food the shelter gave him.

I really hope this helps. I seen your post post an I REALLY wanted to help and this is the best I can do. Try it. I can't imagine loosing my puppy, blue, and I've only had her for a day and a half. I'll say a prayer this works. Maybe he's sick because he was eating something like grass. Was he? I hope it's nothing serious. We're bringing my puppy to the vet tomorrowto get vaccined. Has he been vaccinated? It doesn't cost too much. He could of gotten parvo, or Canine Parvovirus. Is there bits of blood in his vomit? Has he ever eaten or licked another dogs.... umm..... leavings? This could mean he has parvo, and it's EXTREMELY serious. It should be treated soon. Without treatment most dogs die from this.

I practically misplaced two dogs that began displaying those signs. Puppy #a million - Died from Parvo. I made up our minds it was once simply an disillusioned belly and waited until day after today to come to a decision. He died over nigh. (RIP - Bart A Retriever and Doberman combine) Puppy #two - Lived!!! I took him to the Vet. instantly while he began throwing up extra then three instances in a row. Diagnosis - Parvo. The Vet. was once in a position to seize it early sufficient to aid him. My little man spend every week within the clinic, with probably the most exceptional Vet. He made a whole recuperation, although he nonetheless has consuming issues for a scared up esophagus. He is a Chihuahua named Hooch. IF HE GETS SICK MORE THEN three TIMES WITHIN JUST A FEW HOURS, TAKE HIM TO THE VET. MANY PUPPIES DIE EACH YEAR FROM THIS DEADLY DISEASE. We all dread the price for a Veterinarian, however in case you have taken at the accountability of a puppy, you'll generally en medication those charges. The ordinary puppy bills for a puppy - $500 avg. If you're cash mindful, name round to assess out exclusive Veterinarian's, and assess along with your nearby shelters for his or her strategies and offerings. Finding a well vet. is simply as you discovering the correct health care provider. Prices too can fluctuate extensively, and a few vet. prolong credit score, or even enable fee plans. And it not ever hurts to assess in to well Pet Insurance Plan. Hope this is helping you out. If unsure, allow the health care provider assess it out.

Alright, this sounds much like what my labrador went through. She was about 10 when she started coughing, dry-heaving, ect. (Sounded horrible!) She slept most of the day, but continued to eat. (She was a lab, for goodness sake!)

Feel around the neck of your dog to see if you find any bumps or oddities. A tumor may be restricting its breathing/swallowing. (Causing the dry-heaving, inability to eat, and lack of energy.)

If thats the case, TAKE HIM TO THE VET. They still may be able to remove the tumor and give your dog a few more years.

If you aren't able to do this, don't fret. My lab lived to be 13 before we had to put her down (the tumor was the size of a volleyball by then.) but was quite happy just to be around family. She did suffer through considerable discomfort, though, so I highly recommend some professional help.

I honestly hope this isn't the case! Hope he gets better soon. : )

well make sure ur dog isn't eating grass, bcuz grass has small blades it make the dog throw up so watch out for that

also some dogs hav wats know as a ''backwards sneeze'' its common usually in beagles to treat that get ''Original antihistamine pills'' the store brand

some dogs only hav life expectancis to 8-10 yr. espalliy in big dogs

med. dogs 10-14 yr.

small dogs 10-18 so maybe ur dog is old for its size thats y he's lazy and sleepy

and some dogs when they get old do not eat as much

hope this helps, and maybe u should try to get pet insurance bcuz this also sounds like a med. prob.

No one can tell you what's wrong with your DOG, this is not a PSYCHIC section. Your established vet would take a payment plan. The vet would give you a simple sedative to sedate your dog, not put him to sleep. Your lazy arce Dad needs to get off of his butt and find a job, even if it's some where like McDonald's.

If your parents are not willing to find the money to have your dog seen, perhaps he should be surrendered to a shelter where he'll be adopted out to someone who will give him the care he needs. This dog has given you 8 years of unconditional love, and does not deserve to be neglected and not have the vet care he needs.
