What is this thing with PETA?

Question

I never really keep up with PETA or anything, but i noticed that a few people on here really hate them. I was just wondering why? Aren't they suppose to be for the animals? PETA means People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals so automatically you would think that they are for the animals. At least that is what i always thought cause that is also what people always said? Just wondering what's up with them. I mean i don't know much about them cause i never really did any research on them so i am not saying that they are good or that they are bad i'm just wondering what others have to say. So what's up with PETA?

PETA are extreme to the point of being cult-like and dangerous. they're almost as bad as the animal liberation front! PETA believes that "ethical" treatment means that no animal should be kept as a pet, and that all animals should be allowed to roam wild. however, they tolerate pet ownership as long as the animal comes from a pound/rescue and is altered. they don't believe in breeding for ANY reason at all. PETA takes it to the extreme. I won't even go into it. I don't like them. Never have, never will. Like the first person said, they are like a cult and it's basically " My way or the highway" type situation. So basically you are either with them or againist them and I will be againist them.



Anybody who says PETA is a good thing is basically a clueless dilt who is either supporting PETA or in there little cult. They are filled with lies and disgust me truly.



PETA also believes that no animal should be kept as a pet.



Most REAL animal activists and animal lovers can't stand them. I support ASPCA and the other orginizations, I just won't support PETA. Like Emily said, they're a joke.

Ugh, I won't even get into it with PETA. I LOVE animals and I am all for rescue but PETA is a joke. They don't believe that we should have animals for pets. Ughhhhhhh, I just HATE them.



ETA: I don't really have the time or energy to get into it with PETA but I hate the fact they go after young children. I remember being in middle school and they had people waiting outside the school to pass out things like KFC cruelty and how my parents were terrible people for forcing me to eat meat, blah blah blah. I don't find anything wrong with being a vegeterian or vegan but do NOT try and push your beliefs on me. PETA takes everything to extremes. They actually murdered people in order to 'rescue' a lab rabbit and some mice. I truly love all animals, especially mice (I can't feed my snake live mice as I want to keep them as pets) but I would never take a human life to safe an animals. PETA thinks they are on top of the world and that laws and restrictions don't apply to them. Heck one of their main spokeswomen is Pamela Anderson... I support the ASPCA and other organizations, I would never give even a penny to PETA.

if you're looking for someone who does what PETA is supposed to do, try the ASPCA (American Soceity to Prevent Cruelty to Animals). They actually are looking out for our four legged friends.

i'd do females bc they smell a lot less and they are extra lively. I were given my 2 from Petsmart. They DON"T promote them for feeders and keep a million-2 in a keep promptly makin git unattractive to snake nutrition shoppers. they actually have a banfield vet interior that manage rats incase they grow to be ill.(a minimum of mine do) frequently the position usa there must be a petsmart with men and not in any respect to some distance one with females. in case you pass t the nearest one and ask they probable might want to inform you. I were given one from their one time and it seem completely healthy each and every thing, yet at the same time as it got here homestead...:( it bit, it twisted up, it grow to be viscious and hated me. i tried each and every thing for weeks, yet finally its health issues worsend and that i had to grant ti decrease back. the astounding aspect about petsmarts are they often get them from an section breeder that provides them a million-3 a month and they are not over bred. As for petco they get them from chains of risky rat keepers. U can eliminate colds yet not genetic health issues that could want to reason important issues contained in the destiny ending with a short lifespan.

they are way too hardcore and extreme. plus they throw pies at people. :P lol yeah i know, weird, they just have no respect for people who have different opinions. don't get me wrong, i love animals, but PETA can be really stupid sometimes.

Ok first off PETA is a good thing as for the treatment of mass industries of animals for food, also good as far as testing on Animals but they are also against Pets as far as buying a pet from a pet store or breeding, for the fact they are against puppy mills which is where alot of pet stores get the pure bred Dogs, and Breeding for the fact people usually use there bred Dog just to make a couple thousand a year. So in some ways PETA is good, They also will throw a fuss if you correct your Dog for bad behavior, I got into it once with Queen PETA because I do not let my Dog jump on people and I corrected it. She called 911 on me, Lets just say Me and an EMT, and police had a good laugh

PETA is really an org. to protect animals but many people hate it because they think its interfering.....just in a competetion of eating most cockroaches they took legel action against the organization saying it was cruel....but it was really for fun
