Question:
Why are people allowed to be rude and insulting?

Why are people so rude and insulting if given a reply they don't like? Does someone have the right to call me a B.I.T.C.H because I said you should think about potential costs and vet bills BEFORE you get a dog?

Why are people so rude?

Why do people post questions then get pissy if they get replys that don't stroke their ego? This doggy forum seems to be the worst. So many people have big chips on their shoulders and go round giving thumbs down etc.

I thought doggy people were nice!

I think this is an inherent problem on Answers, some people post 'questions' that are not really seeking information or people's views, but mere confirmation of their own existing opinion, and anything that doesn't fit that is treated as hostile!

Silly really, and it spoils what is in many ways a good and enjoyable site!

People tend to be rude and insulting because they are ignorant, as in dumb lol, and also they might have low self esteem. I do not know why people ask questions, if there is a possibility they might not like the answers they are going to get. When someone asks me a "loaded" question, before I answer, I ask them if they want my honest answer, or what they want to hear. Alot of times this saves the ask-er face.

if you have worked in adult mental health then you should no that you meet and speak to all sorts and my god you sure get them on here. you get answer to questions from some and you can tell that they don't know what the hell they are talking about. but the best thing you can do is just ignore the rude and ignorant remarks you get. but just remember that there are some really nice people on here some of them are so polite and well mannered you can pick them out not every one on here is nasty and rude so you will have to take the ruff with the smooth on here and not to let them get at you but you must remember that if you give it then you have got to take it. but please don't let them upset you because they are really not worth it believe me ignorants is bliss. just put the rude remarks down to ignorants and the way they have been dragged up but when you answer question in future don't jump in feet first because if you give **** you will get it back take care

Because YOUR answer was rude, I've just read the question that you answered and you jumped down his throat about getting a dog if he couldn't afford it, you don't know peoples situations, he later explained that he had lost his job and was finding things hard. Some people do fall on hard times AFTER they have got their pets, so what should they do, do their best like this bloke did by selling things to pay for treatment or straight away think about rehoming the dog? my guess is that if someone came on here saying they had lost their job and needed to rehome the dog your answer would be......well you should of thought of that before you got a dog.

I just hope you never fall on hard times and have to make difficult decisions about your pets welfare and if you do i hope people give you a taste of your own medicine.

Some people are just simply idiot. I agree with you, and I think all SHOULD before taking a pet, to ask a couple of important questions from themselves. Some people think that they know EVERYTHING and they have such huge egos and they don't want them to be smashed by someone!

I think no one shouldn't take a pet if not getting information before taking one. I know how indifferent people can be against animals and they do not see that the animal suffers because of THEIR mistakes.

mostly because most people dont like to confront rude people, it just isnt worth the effort.

most doggy people are nice but you sometimes run into ones that are having a bad day or are truly rude/insulting all of the time.

Sorry you were called that, but sometimes people just have no sense and are very ignorant...

but, to tell someone they should have thought of the dog and the costs it takes to care for a dog, before they buy it, is wrong....sometimes people get really sick and lose their jobs, or on medical leave with only a fraction being paid to them on STD from their company...it is not for us to judge people, but to try to educate them and try to help, with an answer that may help them, not make them feel like bums or like dirt.

We all need to stop and think, hard times could happen to me like that, and then what, your dog gets sick, or your child gets sick, same dang thing, and no money to take to doctor or to vet,,........don't judge till you have walked in their shoes.

Apparently, honest answers are not really accepted here. It really gets my dander up when people ask really dumb questions that are wrong on so many levels, then wonder why we won't spend 2 hours correcting their misconceptions, and instead tell them what we really think of them in 25 words or less. Simply put, some people simply should not be on here. What do 'ya do? We try to be nice, but when you have the same question over and over, posted two, three, four times in a day? And why do people expect us to know what is wrong with their dogs when we can't see them, take their temp, etc.?

Most people do not want to except the fact that they arent ready to get a dog. Or they know it in the back of their mind, and then somebody saying it in writing could make them mad I guess. Some people are very rude!

i've got not, yet i've got not been at right here that long. I did submit one question--merely an opinion type question and gained a lot of actually stupid solutions; a number of which relatively ticked me off so I merely bumped off the question. i don't think of i could desire to have stood to verify one extra stupid answer. good success at right here. i'm having exciting, yet...

I've been called that and worse for giving honest, inoffensive answers. I've seriously thought about giving up. This morning I received the most disgusting e-mail, ironically from a user who had blocked ME. I am learning that no response is the way forward.

As people have the freedom of speech, one of the only things we have left.

I don't agree with people getting all hot headed either though. It gets me wound up but what can we do eh?

uhmm human nature?

People have opinions on Y!A and yes, they shouldn't react like that if they get an answer they don't like but then again you have to realize some people don't have common sense and when you confront them in something they've done wrong they get a littly b*tchy.

I think you need to get a thicker skin if you are going to stay on here!

Some people are just idiots - but you are never going to meet them or have to see them face to face, and you know n yourself that answers are sensible, well-though-out and intelligent.

Why do you care what ignorant losers think?!
