Go to www.cesar.com and take the breed test. It will tell you which breed is right for you. PS Chihuahuas are AWESOME!

Any breed of dog can be perfect if he's matched with the perfect owner who raises and trains him perfectly.

You need to say a lot more about your lifestyle before anyone can properly advise you. Generally though, Labs and Golden Retrievers make the best dogs for most families.

Find a good breeder referral by going to www.akc.org or talking to people at dog shows. All breeds (and MUTTS!) can have problems - you should get the best one you can.

http://www.akc.org/breederinfo/breeder_s...

You can also find info about the breed clubs on the akc site - they probably have a rescue group where you can get an older dog for less money.

http://www.akc.org/breeds/rescue.cfm...

The best breeders will be members of their breed club, promoting healthy dogs with great temperaments. They should ask you a bunch of questions to make sure their puppy will be getting a good home. If all a "breeder" seems to care about is whether your check will clear, you can be sure he won't care a week later when the pup is dying from distemper or parvo and you want your money back.

Whatever you do, DON'T go to a pet shop, a flea market or buy one sight-unseen off the Internet!!!! You'll pay top dollar for what is usually a poor quality puppy mill dog that is often sick and may have falsified registration papers. And you'll be supporting one of the cruelest industries in the country. http://www.aspca.org/site/pageserver?pag...

if you want a bigger dog then a Golden is the way to go. The Golden Retriever is the second most popular bred dog in America. This dog is a friendly, loving, intelligent, cheerful, enerjetic, strong, graceful and muscular. This dog was originally breed in Scotland in the 1800'sto retrieve birds that were shot down from the sky by hunters. The male dog are ususally from around 23-24 inches tall and their weight is is about 65-75 pounds. The female golden retrievers are just a little smaller than the males. Their coat can be either flat or wavy and the colors are usually an off-white color to a deep golden brown.

If you like little guys better, Jack Russels are great dogs. The Jack Russell Terrier is a type of small terrier that has its origins in fox hunting and rat catching. The name "Jack Russell" has been used for all of the several types of Russell terrier but is now most commonly used for working terriers similar in form to Parson Russell Terriers. The Parson Russell Terrier itself was known as the Jack Russell Terrier in the United States until 2003

A dog you can commit to and take care of.

And depends on where you live, and your surroundings(city, fenced yard, etc.

All hunting breeds make good companions, but require lots of exercise and or a fenced yard. Boxers are great dogs (have 2) good with kids, very easy to train.(do not get a white boxer, asking for physical problems)

Stay away from Dalmatians, or Chows.

Chows are unpredictable, and Dalmatians have a lot of skin problems.

German Shepard's have a lot of hip displasa(sp) problems

Muts from the animal shelter are good if you can find a puppy, that has not had time to pick up some bad habits.

Will refrain from comments on the ankle bitters, and yap yaps LOL...Good Luck and remember you are making a commitment to care for another animal, its a full time job, and can get expensive with the vets.

Just getting the "right" breed of dog isn't going to get you a "perfect pet". You have to reliably attend to its needs and comforts and patiently teach it everything you expect it to know. Go to a library and see some AKC books where most every breed is photographed and its good points listed. The dog that is perfect for you has the good points that you need and doesn't have the faults that you don't want.

The anwers varies counting on the guy/kin getting and their existence, Is the canines going to be an indoor canines or outdoors canines? Is their youthful toddlers interior the homestead, how youthful are they? what sort of activities does the kin decide to do? friendly just to acquaintances and kin or to strangers besides? or do you want for guarding and gazing homes against strangers? if so do you want canines the watches and alerts or one which will preserve by using agression if needed? It takes asking lots extra inquiries to locate a suitable puppy different element is composed of who bred and do they breed to a widely used, you could have a properly bred breed smart wholesome GSD or you have got a sickly, dumb, agressive GSD and that applies to any breed

that all depends on what kind of pet your looking for. give some more info on what you want for a pet and i bet people can better answer your question. for example, are you an active person? do you go running , hiking a lot? do you need a dog to play with your kids? do you want a small dog , a large dog? you see there are a million different breeds that suit all different types of people so the perfect dog for you depends on what type of person you are.

Go to an animal shelter and look at all the dogs. Some have rooms where you can play with them. Adopt the dog with the best personalities. Go to petfinder.com if you need to find a shelter near you. What's with no rottweilers? They make great companions and are sweet natured dogs.

The perfect breed is the one that is perfect for you and your family. A dog is a very personal choice and what's perfect for one person may be all wrong for you.

You need to research breeds yourself, find photos of dogs you like or go to a dog show and narrow it down. Then you research the ones you like the looks of. Find out about their energy level, temperaments, grooming requirements, health problems, try and meet people who have them and talk to them.

Good luck finding your perfect dog!

It depends on the person and the household.

There is no one perfect breed for every person, or we would all own one!

I know people who have bassets and dachshunds and collies

and pomeranians and labs australain shepherds, and they are each perfect for their households and the people who live there.

Some people love those flat-faced breeds like bulldogs and pugs...

Does the size of the dog matter ? I own a Boxer and she has the sweetest temperment of any dog I have ever seen or owned. Boxers are playful , loyal and very lovable. I wouldn't give mine up for anything .. Good luck with your decision ! :)

Depends on if you want one for inside or outside. If there are children in the house or not.

I have a Boston Terrier and he is great.

He is small, friendly, good with kids, short hair (no shedding) and very, very lovable.

For an inside dog, I have a toy poodle. She's great and I don't have to worry about dog hair all over the place, they don't harly shed.

It depends.Do you want a small dog that will keep you company? If so get a chihuahua.Or if you want a hunting dog get a cur(these are very hard to find and very expensive, but there very sweet)And if you want a dog who is loyal and protective you can get a lab or a goldon retriever.

I think the best breed of large dog is the newfoundland...a small dog is a beagle. Or anything that you rescue from the dog pound.
