Any helpful resources as an introduction to dog anatomy?

Everybody knows the basics. Stop, rump, pastern, hock etc etc. But I'm interested in delving deeper, obviously not as far as what a vet knows! But at least for a little more information. I have some pages saved online, some images which are very basic, but what else can I use.

I'd like further information for bone structure and possibly cells. But general or overall is great [by that I'm meaning simply any information that could be interesting or helpful].

I *did* google myself, but I couldn't find too much, I'm probably look in the wrong places.

Are there any good books? Not talking about the books kids have where it says ear, nose, eye etc, like good books on dog anatomy.

Or just anything else that you think could help?

I ask this, mainly because knowing the basics is good so you can explain to your vet if it's ever needed about an injury, but if I knew a bit more myself.... and I *love* reading, I love learning about sciences and one particular interest is biology, and another being zoology.

So...any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Feed the highest quality dog food you can afford, no corn or wheat. Eliminates the need for suppliments. RAW Bones every couple of weeks to clean teeth. Too many grooming tips to mention, as I've been a pro groomer for 30 years! The Nair in the drain is a great idea! To bathe a dog outside in decent weather using warm water, run a hose in to kitchen sink, unscrew the aerater from the faucet, hose hooks up to it, wallah, warm water! Thin your shampoo in a gallon jug, makes it easier to spread over dog. For dog hair that gets stuck in carpets and furniture and won't vacuum out, a slicker brush works like a charm!

As someone who is studying up on a breed that I am considering adopting within the next year, I began researching some good books.

One of these is 'Care of the Racing & Retired Greyhound' by Linda Lou Blythe. It delves into anatomy, injury, and illness in Greyhounds. It included detailed photographs; you may find much of it to be of great help.
