Okay, I know this cross breed has a lot of conflict and people tend to go a bit over the top by starting arguments about the name...so before I begin, any rude or disrespectful answers to this will be reported.
My parents are thinking of buying a cockapoo puppy later on this year (we want an English show Cocker Spaniel [dam/mother] cross toy poodle [sire/father]).
Do you recommend any decent breeders? I heard the typical breeder produces about 2-3 litters per year. We have made the final decision that we are 100% going with a breeder and NOT a shelter- the reason being that we believe it is very important that we see both parents and get to meet them (unlike that of a shelter dog). We are also aware that these dogs hold a hefty price tag that we are prepared to pay, We have looked around some shelters also just out of interest and we saw no Cocker Spaniel cross Toy Poodles, only 'Staffies' and elderly dogs (no puppies of any sort, either). Pet shops don't sell dogs over here, only hamsters and rabbits, etc, so we are not supporting puppymills. We are hoping to use 'Breeders Online' to purchase our puppy as we know several other Cockapoo owners who have used this and they recommend it also. All the people we've met that are owners of Cockapoos don't have a single bad thing to say about these dogs and I agree that they are simply gorgeous and seem to have a heart of gold! We're really looking forward to this puppy and we've started to buy a few toys and a lead already!

Do you have a 'Cockapoo' or a puppy Cockapoo?
What are your experiences?
What breeder do you recommend?
What do you think we need/would you class as a must have? (E.g. Toys, leads, etc.
What was their first few weeks like?
How much did you pay for them?
How much are the vaccinations?

- UK only, please!

Not a single person here has an issue with mutts in general, most of us own one or have had one at some point of time

HOWEVER......decent breeders DO NOT breed mutts on purpose....so you will not find one....mutts can be picked up at any shelter in any country around the world....

mutts should NOT be bought from dumbaaasseess who pass themselves as "breeders" to people who are not smart to figure this out

mutts also DO NOT have any distinct characteristics in terms of size, color, temperament, etc...so whoever tells you otherwise is a full of shiiiit

its a mutt....there is a reason that purebred dogs with papers and titles cost thousands of dollars, they can be predictable and you can rely on what you are buying.......buying a "cockapoo"..."chippooo"...or whatever else scam you want to be a part of DOES NOT get you a predictable dog....it gets you a poorly bred mutt

its a mutt.. there's NO guarantees on what traits or qualities to expect from it

and no one with a decent show cocker is going to let a poodle anywhere near their dog.. the only people breeding these are those with substandard dogs.

Meeting the mother and father means nothing.. it shows you that it is a cocker and poodle mix.. thats about it. Even when buying a purebred, unless you know exactly what you are looking for, meeting the parents is pointless. I can tell you more about a dog from looking at its pedigree than from meeting the parents. Your excuse of "meeting the parents" when you are buying a MONGREL anyways, is invalid. It wont be anything like either parent anyways.

You are supporting a backyard breeder, which is not much different than a puppy mill. You can find the SAME THING in a shelter for cheaper.

No, I dont have a mutt puppy. I prefer not to get ripped off paying for a mongrel

I knew people who were ripped off and bought these mongrels. The one was so hyper it couldnt be trained properly. She eventually gave it to someone who could deal with the housebreaking issues and hyper-ADD beyavoir.

I dont reccommend any breeder who breeds mutts. They are in it for money, not to produce healthy animals.

A good vet and a groomer

First few weeks with a puppy is same as any puppy.. many sleepless nites, piles of pee and poop to clean up, play biting, whining, chewing things up.

I would not pay more than $50 for a mongrel- with shots and worming

Since you are in the UK, and majority of people on at this time are from the US, the best answer on pricing will be to call your VET and ask what the cost of vaccines are.

'UK ONLY".. this is an INTERNATIONAL forum.. majority of the users on at this time are from the US.

You and your parents attitude is pretty much summed up as this

"We want a puppy, and we think this particular mix is cute because we know a few people who have one. We are too impatient to find a puppy in a shelter, because we want a puppy while its still in the cute stage. We know its unethical to buy mutts from a breeder, but we do not care, because we want what we want.. and here's a few stupid reason to make our reasons sound logical/ethical.."

Added

Just because mom has papers, "Ch bloodlines" and the breeder claims she is show quality does NOT make her a show dog. Where is her CH title? Oh, and "cockapoos" can NOT be "championship stars".. because, they CAN NOT BE SHOWN! I think you are ignorant as to what a show dog actually is.

What people have stated is NOT "opinions".. these are FACTS.. and you clearly chose to ignore it to overpay for a mongrel pup anyways. Dont be disapointed when the pup turns out not to be what you expected.

And it does not matter if YOU are in the UK/Ireland version of the site.. Im on the US version, and ALL questions show up. Stop being a snotty, ignorant child.

You will not find a "show" Spaniel that has been mated with a poodle - and that I can guarantee.

The breeders of their show girl would not let her mate with a different breed. Therefore I highly advise you to check on google (as I just did) and there are plenty of cockapoos available for sale in the UK all different shapes and colours.

I have no experience with this dog, as I have only bred Saints and Westies.

Why are you repeating your questions - you were told its a mutt - NO reputable breeders and you cannot predict how your mutt will end up in looks, size, coat, etc. You can only get mutts like this from backyard breeders or puppy mills.

NO reputable breeder will breed a mutt on purpose. Stop asking this over and over or you will be reported.

No reputable breeder deliberately produces mutts. You are out of your mind (and/or have lost touch with REALITY) if you think anybody with a "show quality" cocker is going to WASTE her, on producing mutts. Both cockers & poodles have a TON of health problems & a "mix" of the two will NOT negate that. Only reputable breeders do health/genetic screenings and the screenings are often very expensive to do.

Breeder lol so your going to a BYB as no reputable breeder breeds mixes.

Its a mixed Breed its not a Breed .

They have no breed standard as there a mix unknown genetics and the only place you should be getting one from is a shelter .

even with the place you % to get the canines (breeder, guard, humane society) you're asking approximately what breed - so..... i could recommend a beagle. they're very loving and outdoorsy. they're playful and fantastically lively. they could be knowledgeable so that they do no longer stick to their nostril into hardship while your out. :) super canines nevertheless!
