It's best to feed the pup high protein puppy food, but she's eating the cat's Whiskas coz it's more tasty.

Not only generally is cat food more costly, BUT also much more flavoursome than dog food.

NO, its not OK to eat the cat's. Cat foods and treats are formulated for CATS.. they are too high in protein and other nutrients for dogs, and dont have enough of other nutrients.

Put the cat's food up where the cat can jump up and get to it, but the puppy cannot reach.

My aunts dog had to have emergency bladder stone removal a few years ago.. when the vet questioned her about the dog's diet, she told the vet mostly cat food. The vet told her that is the worst diet you can feed! The dog had several large bladder stones removed and it cost $400! It was probably the high protien diet in the cat food.

cat food is of higher quality that dog food, it is not unusual for a dog to like cat food. do not continuously leave dog biscuits out the entire day - the pup should be fed at designated times - 3x a day. if she doesn't finish it, take it away and she can not eat until the next meal - it trains them to eat on the spot, if they don't they gotta wait. separate her from the cat during feeding time for now - they don't know they're suppose to have separate bowls.

do not just feed her the cat food - cat nutrients and dog nutrients percentage can be different - what might be a well balanced diet for your cat might not be for your dog. try to switch your dog to a high protein diet instead. i like evo and innova brands but a typically very pricely - candiae is also a very good dog food and not as expensive as evo and innova - you may want to give that a try.

last but not least - do not feed too much moist food - i only feed my dog dry food and some moist food maybe once a month or even longer to reward them - too much moist food is bad for the teeth.

when u separate them, and switch up the diet, i'm sure u're puppy will eat her own food. they don't think "i'mma starve myself because this taste like crap" they just know i'm hungry... i have food, eat eat eat.

It is fine for a dog to eat cat food, but a cat can't survive on dog food. Cat's food is more appealing to dogs than their own food because its designed that way, cats can be fussy eaters. Also, cat food is high in energy and protein (samething) because a cats diet needs it to be. Dog food is not good for cats because it isn't as nutritious for their diet. Your pup will be fine on some cat food, but keep feeding the mince or a quality tinned puppy food because too much protein can be hard for a young stomach to take. If your puppy gets the runs, stop the cat food, protein will be the cause of it. Otherwise its fine for dogs to eat cat food.

first of all I don't know what bickies are or mince or whatever yuo weere talking about, but if you were wondering why your dog only eats your cats food it's because animals generally want what the other one has. Even you were giving them the same thing, they will always go for the other animals stuff. And cat food has more fat in it then dog food and generally more appealing. Feed them seperately if you don't want it happening.

Do not allow your dog to eat cat food. Move the cats dish to higher ground and don't leave food down all day for your dog.

The dog should know that food comes from you, not the floor. It will help you later on when you are training him. When you take the pup in for his shots get the feeding schedule from the vet if you didn't already get one from the breeder.

dog bikies are for dogs, and cat treats are for cats, and the cat isn't getting any treats because the pushy dog is eating them...i have a friend who feeds his cat in a child's high chair, and the dog on the floor, you might put the cat treats up where the cat can get them, (like in a high chair food tray) and leave the dog bikkies down for the dog.

by the way it was cute the way the cat would sit in the high chair when it was his suppertime.

I have a Lab and four cats, and he's been eating their cat food ever since he was a pup! He now wights about 150lb, and is stout as a horse! Can almost pull my car!!
