Purina is not good for your puppy, I would feed raw.

NO it is defiantly not. There are alot of good brands out there you just have to take the time to look at the ingredients, also i'm glad you took the time to look at the protein and fat content. That is a pretty good protein but i would look for higher fat for a puppy, they are very active and need the extra energy.

The above answer is only partially right. Dry dog food needs to contain meals. There is nothing wrong with it as long as it isn't chicken by product meal. All meat meal is is meat with all moisture removed BEFORE processing. If they put in regular meat, it will shrink, while meal stays the same. So meat should always be backed by beef, chicken, venison,or salmon meal.
No corn, wheat, soy,by products. Purina includes all of those things so I'd seek a different option. Like the above answer mentioned, Innova is great, so is natures variety prairie, which I feed my dog. I also give him a raw meaty bone twice a week. Keeps his teeth clean and gives him extra protein.

I thought I cant afford better food for my pets but after I did my research on food I just switched and it didnt make a hole in my pocket. Go to Petvalu and get Chicken Soup For Pet Lovers. Its around $40 for 35 lbs. You will see that when you give better food to you dog he will eat less because a small amount of better food has more nutritients than a large amount of bad food therefore they eat less. My puppy is very picky but she liked it, so did my cats. Or as somebody said before go to Costco and get Kirkland's brand, its a great food for i think $24, I would feed it to my dog, I jsut dont have Costco around me

Read the ingredient list. Thats the best way to find out if it is good. You want the first 3 ingredients to be whole sources of meat. No "meal" (chicken meal, etc.). Also stay away if one of the top 5 ingredients is corn. That is just cheap filler. Also, if you see ingredients you can't pronounce, they are likely preservatives, which are bad for both humans and dogs. I personally feed my dogs Innova. Other good ones are Canidae and Blue Wolf (I think thats the name). All these brands also make puppy varieties. Here is a pretty good website to check out.http://www.woodhavenlabs.com/dogfoods.html

The answer is absolutely not. American manufactured dog food is the reason for the dramatic rise in canine cancers and other diseases. Don't buy anything with corn in it. I read an article about a champion giant schauzer breeder who fed her dogs raw meat, beef, lamb, chick ed, no turkey or pork and goats milk. She added vitamins too. She has over 1000 champion ribbons in her office. I know that is not practical for most of us, but I know of a good food called Blue Mountain. Petco carries it. It has all the good stuff in it. Also I give my dogs a raw beef knuckled bone when the butcher has em. Good luck
