DO NOT WRAP THEM NOW!

The vet should have explained -- the ears when the edges are still healing are left open to air. To wrap them is to cause them to fester and get infected! Leave them as they are. Once the edges are healed (about 10 days), then you start posting them. The posts are not bandages, they are supports for the ears so the cartiliage can harden and the ears will stand.

I personally don't like dissolving stitches in ears -- they aren't buried in the flesh like a spay stitch is, and often they don't dissolve correctly. I would take them out in 10 days.

The method used before the stitches are out varies from vet to vet. Some leave them down, some glue them to the top of the head some use a rack or cup. All that have a clue will leave the edges free. All those methods are equally acceptable. The ears will just need to be properly posted once the edges are healed and the stitches out which like the vet said will be about 2 weeks

Also like Annie stated the stitches are unlikely to dissolve properly and will need to be removed in about 10 days

Find another vet or consult your breeder. Yours obviously has ZERO experience cropping the ears of a Doberman. They MUST be posted to stand once the edges heal after cropping, sometimes for more than a year, and the vet should have shown you how to do that.

unless you got a short pet/military crop YES you will need them taped. And the NEXT time you decide to go this route either go to a BETTER vet or have the breeder have the ears done before picking your pup up. Call your local dobe club tomorrow and see if they can find someone to show you proper after care of cropped ears including taping.

you will in no way get people to agree on cropping or no longer yet because of the fact you have had it accomplished there is not any factor arguing it. As reported 6 months is basically too late to crop and at 11 months you have in basic terms a small danger of fulfillment, even though I honestly have considered ears stand, under comparable circumstances, even though it required assorted artwork. It additionally relies upon on the situation of the ear that's 'unfastened.' it would desire to be the top or the whole ear is flattened to his head. locate somebody - your breeder, a breeder, all people who has adventure in taping (does not might desire to be dobies might desire to be danes) and notice in the event that they are going to artwork with you. I hesitate to point your vet because of the fact maximum vets won't crop a 6 month previous domestic dog so i'm extremely reluctant to propose him yet often the vet who does the crop has somebody in his place of work who's experienced with taping. There are issues which you're able to do and that they won't artwork yet I honestly have considered that it does specially cases.

Bad idea to crop a dog's ears...ears help the dog to cool down since they can't sweat...That being said. I can't believe you didn't research the dog-cropping info before you jumped into it. Guess you'll just have to rely on the person that knows, which would be the vet that did the cropping.

Contact your veterinarian or get a second opinion from a different vet.

Call your breeder for advice.

you can't tape the ears of your Doberman because tapes are very dangerous and i suggest you to bring her to the vet. They will do it for you.
