I asked this before and didn't too many responses-and I'm DESPERATE! My puppy has to have her butt wiped EVERY time she poops and sometimes in between. For example, tonight I gave her a bath, and after we snuggled for a while with her in a towel to dry off/warm-up I took her out of the towel and her butt had poop on it! Any guesses? Can dogs have sphincter issues?

That sounds like a good question for the vet. She may have loose bowl movements for some reason, or maybe she's still young yet to have full control of her functions. Your vet may be able to diagnose her problem, and give a solution and advice for the problem. Poor little thing! I'll bet she's really sweet!

I have heard of dogs having sphincter issues. My next door neighbours dog used to have simular problems where her bottom had to be wiped. She had trouble "making the break off" happen after poos. Poop used to get stuck around her anal area and yeah lotsa baths and so on. But this was not continual just maybe once/twice weekly. I suggest that you seek some other proffesional advice as runny poop in a pup could mean much more serious problems

Good luck

You need to ask your vet what's wrong with your puppy. If she is having loose stools get a diahhrea medecine in her right away. Loose stools can be fatal in dogs, especially puppies. The vet can tell you what if any problem there is.

OR, she may just have a hygeine issue. If she has long hair either keep the area around her butt combed well or clip that area.

If she has long hair that it's sticking to, have a groomer shave the area around there to keep it clean.

Aside from that, a trip to the vet might be in order- if she's constantly leaking poop or having diarrhea, there's a problem.

I assume she must have "loose"stool, or diarrhea.

I would change her diet and/or call the vet.

My dog gets terrible "dingleberries" after he east table scraps- the poos sticks to his fur near his anus. And if I don't trim it, it only gets worse.

Hitting a animal is abuse and it's illegal and you can go to jail for this. Why don't you go pick one someone your own size instead of a helpless defenseless pup you coward.
