It's interesting to hear how people came about their dogs/cats names.

I own 3 dogs--named Browser, Coco, and Bella.

My younger brother came up with the name "Browser" because the dog was brown and a 'sir'. So, he put the two names together, and WaLa--we got the name Browser!

We named our little dog Coco, because she was brown and white.

And, we named our other dog Bella, because Bella means 'beautiful' In Italian. And, she is beautiful so that is how she got her name!

We also have two cats named Minouche and Tiger. When we got Minouche, she was a tiny kitten that we had found. In French, Minouche means 'kitten,' and well, that is how we got her name!

We also have an all white cat named Tiger, and I named her when I was a toddler or so. I had watched a Barney episode (funny, I know) and they had found a white cat on tv too, and named her 'tiger!' So, I took their idea!

Well, That is how I came up with all of my pets names!
What about you? How did you come up with your dogs/cats names?

My 2 horses came with there names (Copper and Shadow) but after being around them for 7 years their names suit them Copper is the color of a penny and Shadow is black (mini horse) and he follows Copper around all the time--kinda like a shadow.

Paris-All white long haired cat(kinda prissy a spoiled, so there's her name for ya)

Fox-Orange male Tabby cat (my fiance like dirt bikes and Fox Racing so I named him Fox for my fiances' sake)

Khaos-Like the Monster Energy drink )cause he is a monster and he creates chaos wherever he goes)

Daphnee-Coyote/Shepard Mix (when I adopted her from the pound at 4 months old she was weird and lurpy looking-kinda like a Scooby-Doo character-but she was special so she got an extra "e"

Kawi- Black Lab (pronounced Cow-wee) like I said my fiance like dirt bikes and he rides a Kawasaki. When we got her all she wore was Kawasaki green and Fox Racing stuff (bandanas I hand made)

These are all the animals that are living at my house, as for the pets that are living with my parents...

Say-lem (Salem-I just like unique spellings) Male black cat the should up on Halloween (very original I know, hence the unique spelling)

Evy- female all grey kitten with green eye's I rescued (I was really into the Mummy movies with Brenden Frazier) and she would cuddle up on my lap when I watched them so I named her Evelyn (but Evy for short)

Tasha- Australian Shepard mix name just popped out when I was playing with her after I brought her home.

Harley- LARGE male black lab with white markings on his chest and front feet toes (kinda reminded me that he was wearing a leather jacket and fingerless gloves)

Bear- Part Shepard/part moose when my dad brought him home he was this little puppy with these HUGE feet looked like a bear cub (we hoped he would grow into his feet...now we wish he hadn't, he can't do anything without making a mess of the house and when he gets a bath he looks like a soggy buffalo with all his fur)

My older dog is Frankie - He's named for Frank Sinatra. His registered name is Come Fly with Me (a Sinatra song), which was playing on the stereo when my hubby proposed and we danced our first dance to at our wedding.

My younger dog is Remy - He's named for Remy Martin Cognac - Registered Mighty Fine Moonshine (A joke of course since Remy Martin is a fine Cognac). Remy Martin is a favorite of my hubby when having a fine cigar.

My yellow Labrador Retriever is named Tritan Bear. I got the named Triton from mythology. I wanted an unusual water name and Triton is the son of Poseidon the god of water/ocean. Also Triton is the name of the first USA submarine to circle the world full submerged. The Bear part was from my brother, we called him Jer Bear and he got me Tritan right before he died. So Tritan got part of his name from him.

Our PIt Bull is named Remy and he was my brother's dog. Jeremy or Jer Bear, my brother got Remy when he was diagnosed with a rare cancer and he named Remy after him, kinda of his legacy. Remy is the last part of JeREMY.

Two of my dogs were already named - Domino and Lucas. I was going to change Lucas but after calling him that for four months, by the time he was mine he was already a "Lucas"! Domino is a black and white mutt and it suits her perfectly.

When we got Spencer it was the week Princess Di died and we was going to call him Dodi or Fayed but thought it may cause offence in the first few weeks(!). So we thought about Earl (after Di's brother, the Earl) but I dont like one syllable names for dogs and decided on Spencer instead (her maiden name!)

Not that exciting really.....!!

I have two dogs and three cats:

Sophie-My sister named her

Cats:

Chui (like Chewy)- When we were looking to adopt him, he had chewed up all the newspaper in his cage and he had started gnawing on my moms arm so I thought, "Why not name him Chui?!" (Plus I was six)

Kylie-My dad named her

Ollie-My little sister and I named him Ollie because he is a little energetic ball of playfulness, and Ollie just seemed to fit that! 8)

Holly--got her a month before Christmas.

Lexy--thought it was a cute name.

Sam--my brother named her.

Lucky (cat)--my friend named him. I don't think she thought much about it; it just stuck. Now everyone has clever things to say about how he's named Lucky and has 3 legs--but it's more fate than anything. He definately had 4 legs when my friend named him!

Sheila- When she was a puppy, she used to love being held like a baby. My mom's first baby doll was called "Sheila Baby" so that's where we got it from.

Blue- Her eyes are a bright blue.

Rufus- I don't even know, he didn't really have a name, so we just called him names like Pringle and Rougar until we settled on Rufus.

Dusty- His fur is black, with little brown tips that give him a dusty look.
