The difference to me: Olde English Bulldogges are free breeders/free whelpers that have clear breathing, and their life expectancy is between 10 to 14 years. Oldes range in height: Males - 18 to 20 inches at the shoulder. Females - 17 to 19 inches at the shoulder. Oldes ideal weight: Between 50 to 70 lbs. for females and 65 to 85 lbs. for males. Oldes are very intelligent, and very eager to please their people. I own 4 Oldes, when we decided to get a 'bulldog' we researched several alternatives, several bully breeds-and found the Olde to be right for our family. You will not be disappointed if your little guy is an Olde rather than an "akc" bulldog. FYI-it can take up to age 3 before the bullies fully mature into what they will look like for the rest of their lives (jowls, ears, head shape, etc.) Either way, you will have a solid companion, whether Olde or Bulldog, they are great dogs! Congratulations!

Bulldogs and Old English bulldogs have similar appearances, but clear distinctions exist between the breeds. The Old English bulldog results from crosses between bull mastiffs, American pit bulls, American bulldogs, and bulldogs. Development of the Old English bulldog breed was an attempt to recover the historic look and health of the bulldog, which had deteriorated over time. The Old English bulldog imitates the original bulldogs of the 1800s. Both were developed for baiting bulls, but since that sport became illegal, the breeds have been bred to have more gentle tendencies.

An old English is just a more natural looking version of an English Bulldog. I believe they were created using an English bulldog and staffies, but, I'm not entirely sure.. They tend to be a bit taller and have more normal looking faces..

They are not a breed recognized by the AKC..

While many breeders refer to them as English Bulldogs, the AKC standard just calls them a Bulldog.. The ideal weight for them is about 50 lbs. Though, there certainly could be larger individuals that are still purebred.

first here is a website for the Olde English bull -- coreyland olde english bulls --- the difference is that the olde english bull is new and old breeding put together -- to create a more responsive and healthier bull done by David Leavitt , they are a cross of bullmastiff, american bull and pit with a half english -- they are a bit taller and the muzzles are not as mashed flat (check out the web site) the english bull is the original bull that was cross breed to bait and bring down actual bulls that is why they have the strength and jaw power -- the overbite that they have was accidental but the breeders way back when saw how it gave the english bull a true advantage over the bull to help bring it down once it latched on to the leg-- so it was kept in the breed -- check out web sites -- it is a magnificant animal and the only true way to check your dog if gotten at a breeder is to get those papers with the family tree and look up the dogs -- the olde english bull registry is OEBA or OEBKC

It is not uncommon for an English bulldog to get to 70 pounds. The best way to evaluate olde English from English is height and muzzle shape. Olde English bulldogges have a longer muzzle then the English. English bulldogs are recognized by AKC and olde English are not. Does the dog have papers? An olde English bulldogge will be substantially taller then an English bulldog.

Hope this helps.

Although there are several bully breeds, the Bulldog is just Bulldog. English, Old English and British are just not in the name of the breed as they were many years agol.

The owner of the dog needs to know how to "operate" the dog, same way you can get into a car that's in perfect running order but if you don't know how to drive you won't have much luck making the car go anywhere. If the owner doesn't know how to maintain the training, the dog will soon become untrained again. Read more here https://tinyurl.im/L4IbS

People seem to think that once a dog is trained, that's it. Not true. You must reinforce the dog's training every single day in some way. It's best if the owner and the dog go together to get trained. As a professional trainer once said to me "We can train any dog in 2 days. It takes longer to train the owners

The Olde English Bulldogge is a purebred breed of dog. It is a re-creation of the Bull-baiting dog that existed in England during the English Regency period of 1811 and 1820 that was known as the Old English Bulldog.....The "Olde English Bulldogge" is a specific re-creation of the "Regency Period Bull Baiter", developed by David Leavitt, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania

As a professional dog trainer for over 16 years, I have to tell you my strong opinion that you need these group classes for obedience training. http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?zOEC

Other pet warehouses are there to get you to buy their products and hang around their strore. And their trainers are their employees...never forget they have an agenda. Most of the trainers have very little education--if they had actual training and skills they wouldn't be there making just over minimum wage--trust me on this. But even if they did have experience and talent...a group setting is a terrible place for learning to take place. It's distraction training and it is the LAST phase of training not the first. You wouldn't have your child try to do their homework in a toy store, would you? Of course not...the level of distraction would be too high! It's the same with dogs. Having said that, these classes can be an excellent way to socialize dogs...but not to train them. And while they appear to be cheaper than a professional trainer...you have to attend many more sessions to get the same results because of the poor learning environment--so you wind up spending MORE money for less training than you would with a professional. Save your money and go to someone who actually knows how to train dogs. OR, read books and try to train your dog yourself. There is nothing they train at a Petsmart or Petco that you can't do yourself with a couple of hours of reading.

A natural way for dogs to communicate is to bark at things they find or see, usually which are interesting or a threat to them. If you have a dog that barks too much, then you want to find a way to calm down the instinct by offering the best dog training. While you want to make sure your dog can express themselves sometimes by barking, you also want to focus on not letting the noise become a burden. Following are some of the dog training tips that help your dog to stop barking while establishing basic obedience rules for the home.

Start young. If you have an older dog that hasn't been trained to stop barking, it is difficult to stop. You want to make sure that you train puppies not to bark if they are doing it too much. The younger you start training them, the easier it will be for them to understand the dog training commands.

Understand what barking is for. Barks from a dog are used for several reasons. You want to make sure you understand why they bark and whether this can be prevented. Some common reasons for barking are from the dog being bored or lonely. If there are distractions that the dog feels are a threat, they may also bark. You can prevent dogs from barking by giving them extra attention or by getting another pet.

Reward them when they stop. Just like other types of obedience training, you can easily stop your dog from barking by showing them when to be quiet. This is known as one of the best dog training methods. Dog training commands and words such as saying quiet, with a voice that has a low tone, will easily stop your dog from barking. Once they do stop, you can reward them by telling them good in a higher tone and by giving them a treat. However, you need to do this instantly after they stop so they understand what the reward is for.

Anti bark collars. If your dog instinctively keeps barking at everything, then you can get a collar for extra training. When the dog barks, a stimulus or scent is set off which causes slight discomfort for the dog. If you aren't around and your dog starts barking, it will immediately stop them.

Know when to train. You want to make sure you don't leave your dog in a position where they can't express themselves. Even if you have neighbors who don't like the dog barking, there are certain times where they should be able to speak. Knowing when to apply commands and training and when to let them bark helps them to feel comfortable while allowing you to apply limitations.

The ability to offer the best dog training is one that is reliant on consistency and understanding your dog. If you have a pet that naturally wants to bark, then finding a way to monitor the behavior is the best step to take. Following these dog training tips can help you to establish better behavior with your dog while allowing them to express themselves at the right time.

If you are in the US and the breeder called them "English Bulldogs" then he doesn't know a damn thing about the breed and they could be just about anything except a purebred "Bulldog".

"Old English Bulldogg" is a "designer breed" and can be classed in the same category as a "whareverpoo".

The English bulldog says "GO MANCHESTER UNITED" when it barks and the Old English bulldog says "I say... has anyone chewed on the chaucer book lately?"

It's just Bulldog. No "English", no "Olde English". Bulldog.
